Delhi Metro New Lines: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the development of two new Delhi Metro corridors. These corridors will be from Lajpat Nagar to G Block of Saket and from Indralok to Indraprastha, which will cover a total distance of about 20 km. This important decision is expected to make the journey of about 2.5 lakh passengers more convenient every day. This ambitious metro project is estimated to cost a huge amount of Rs 8,600 crore.

The Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block corridor will cover a distance of 8 km and will have eight stations, while the Indralok-Indraprastha line will be 12 km long and will have 10 stations. These new lines will provide direct connectivity and reduce travel time for passengers, eliminating the need for long detours.

Lajpat Nagar to Saket G-Block Metro Line

  • It will cover a distance of 8.385 km
  • This line will connect the silver, magenta, pink and violet lines
  • It will be completely elevated and will have eight stations
  • Indralok to Indraprastha Metro Line

It will cover a distance of 12.377 km

11.349 km long underground lines and 1.028 km long elevated lines including 10 stations
Will provide interchange with Red, Yellow, Airport Line, Magenta, Violet and Blue Line
Will provide enhanced connectivity to Bahadurgarh region of Haryana
Eight new interchange stations will be built on these corridors at Indralok, Nabi Karim, New Delhi, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Lajpat Nagar, Chirag Delhi and Saket G block.
