The order issued by the DoPT on Wednesday said the revised rates of Central Secretariat (Deputation on Tenure) Allowance (CDTA) are admissible to officers of All India Services and Organised Group ‘A’ Central Services on their appointment as Under Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries and Directors in the Central Secretariat under the Central Staffing Scheme.

At present, during their tenure as Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary or Director, officers are paid CDTA at the rate of 10 per cent of their basic pay, subject to a maximum of Rs 9,000.

DoPT said, “After considering the references received from various ministries/departments and due consultation with the Department of Expenditure, it has been decided that whenever there is a 50 per cent increase in dearness allowance, the maximum limit of CDTA will be further increased by 25 per cent.”
