Employees Paid Holiday: Relief has been given to government employees. In fact, they have been given the benefit of paid leave. Orders have been issued in this regard.
According to the order issued, holidays have been announced for them on different dates. Actually, assembly elections and by-elections are to be held in 6 states across the country. For which the dates have been announced. After the announcement of the date, leave orders have been issued for the employees. According to the order issued by DoPT, the first phase of elections in Chhattisgarh is to be held on Tuesday, November 7. For which the employees of these areas will be given the benefit of leave. Along with this, they will also be provided holiday pay.
Paid leave benefits
Apart from this, the second phase of elections is to be held on November 17. On which holiday orders have been issued in the respective districts. Elections will be held in Mizoram on 7th November while voting for assembly elections will be held in Madhya Pradesh on 17th November.
Voting for elections will be held in Rajasthan on 25th November while in Telangana elections are to be held on 30th November. Voting for by-elections is to be held in Nagaland on November 7. In such a situation, leave facility has been provided to the employees of the respective areas of these states. During this period, government offices, schools, colleges and other institutions will remain closed.
The order by DoPT clarified that under Section 135B of the Representation of the People Act 1951, there is a provision for granting paid leave on the day of polling to its employees who are entitled to vote in the respective elections. In this regard, the Department of Personnel and Training has issued guidelines regarding closure of government offices and granting of holidays during elections. Whose benefits will be available to the employees.
