The workers had announced the strike

Recently, the employees of Karnataka state had announced to go on strike due to non-implementation of 7th Pay Commission. The employees had said that if the state government does not accept the demands of the employees union by March 1, then the employees may go on strike. According to the employees, they had given the government time till March 1, 2023. However, before this the government announced to increase the salary.

Salary will increase so much

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai discussed the issue with officials of the Finance Department and the KSGEA on Wednesday morning after a meeting with the association members on Tuesday night. After this, the state government issued an order announcing an increase of up to 17 percent in the basic salary of government employees from April 1, 2023.

Committee formed to implement old pension scheme

The Karnataka government has also issued instructions to the Additional Chief Secretary to visit the states where the old pension scheme has been restored and NPS has been scrapped. Also asked to submit the report in 2 months. The move will increase the government’s expenditure by Rs 12,000 crore. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that we are increasing the salary of all government employees of the state by 17 percent. Along with this, a committee is also being formed to implement the old pension scheme.
