According to salary revision reports, there is only one year left for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, considering this, the government may announce a new formula for salary revision. It is expected that this can happen after Holi 2023.

Media sources report that the basic pay of central government employees is likely to increase after Holi 2023 as the government may take a decision on the pending fitment factor hike.

Government employees get salary on the basis of fitment factor and at present the fitment factor is 2.57 percent. DA-DR reports suggest that the central government can make the dearness allowance (DA) of government employees effective from January 1 in March 2023. The central government increased the DA by 4 percent in September last year, therefore increasing the DA from 34 percent to 38 percent. In this March, the government can also increase DA by 4%. There is a possibility that the government may also increase the dearness pension (DR) of the pensioners.
