IndiGo has made a big announcement due to the increasing number of passengers in Diwali and festive season, increasing demand on domestic routes and increasing connectivity. Indigo Airlines has announced 8 new flights. Let us tell you that in view of Diwali and Chhath, these flights will fly on Bhopal-Udaipur, Ahmedabad-Jammu, Ranchi-Bhubaneswar and Indore-Chandigarh routes. The company has given this information.
Big announcement of airlines
The company has issued a press release for this and said that out of these new flights, Bhopal-Udaipur flight will be RCS route and this will increase the reach between the states. IndiGo Airline Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer Sanjay Kumar said, “The company is extremely excited to announce new flights on domestic routes across seven states with an aim to enhance connectivity and reach among domestic routes.”

Sanjay Kumar said, ‘Before the announcement of these flights, IndiGo airline also conducted a successful landing test on 18 October at Hollongi Airport, which is called Donyi Polo Airport. Significantly, the foundation stone of this greenfield airport was laid in 2019. Let us tell you that it will serve Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh and is located about 14 km south of the city centre. Actually, this airport has been made keeping in mind the small aircraft, which can take 180 to 200 passengers.
Sanjay Kumar said, ‘The important work required for the operation of the airport has been completed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate this airport but the date has not been decided yet. We are hopeful that the start of flights from this airport will give a boost to the tourism sector.
New flights can also come on these routes
Giving further information, another official has told that Indigo airline is also considering to bring new flights on many other routes. The airline may operate flights from Itanagar to Guwahati and Kolkata and there is also a possibility of direct flights between Delhi and Itanagar in the coming months.
