Domestic airlines such as Air India, Air India Express, Indigo and other airlines have issued travel advisories to their customers regarding the operation of civilian aircraft from these airports. Air India has announced the cancellation of flights to 8 places on May 13. Earlier, AAI had said in a statement on Monday that 32 airports that were closed for civilian aircraft operations till 05:29 am on May 15 are now available for operation with immediate effect.

Advice to check flight status

According to the news, AAI has asked passengers to keep an eye on the websites of airlines to know or check the flight status. Due to heavy tension between the two countries, the movement of commercial flights from 32 airports in northern and western India, including Srinagar and Amritsar, was suspended from May 9 to May 15. These airports were temporarily closed.

What did Air India and Air India Express say

Air India said bookings are now open. Air India Express said it will gradually restore flight operations from previously closed airports, once NOTAMS are lifted by authorities. Air India Express said it plans to resume operations on Hindon-Mumbai, along with other flights including international services from Amritsar, expected from May 15. IndiGo said in a statement that following government directives, airports that were recently closed are now available for airlines to operate. IndiGo has reopened its flight bookings. IndiGo said that over the next few days, more flights will gradually resume across the network. Meanwhile, SpiceJet said flights will resume soon.

A series of NOTAMS was issued

Let us tell you, AAI along with other aviation authorities had issued a series of Notices to Airmen (NOTAM), announcing the temporary closure of 32 airports in northern and western India for all civilian flight operations. Security measures were heightened, and at least 32 airports in the northern and western parts of the country were temporarily closed in view of the conflict between India and Pakistan. On Saturday, India and Pakistan reached an agreement to stop all firing and military action on land, air and sea with immediate effect.
