Flyover Close: This flyover will remain closed for next 50 days, police issued traffic advisory

Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory on Tuesday as the Sarita Vihar flyover remained closed for 50 days due to repair work.

The flyover is part of the Mathura Road that connects southeast Delhi to Faridabad in Haryana. According to the advisory, the PWD will start the repair work of the flyover from June 7.

“The repair of each carriageway of the flyover will take around 25 days and the flyover will be closed for traffic while the other carriageways will remain open for traffic. In the first and second phase, the portion of the flyover from Ashram to Badarpur will be repaired. And the portion of the flyover from Badarpur to Ashram will be repaired in the third and fourth phases.”

The traffic police informed the commuters about the closure of the flyover through Twitter . Police tweeted, “Due to repair work by PWD at Sarita Vihar Flyover on Mathura Road from 07.06.2023, the carriageway will remain closed for a period of 50 days. Please follow the advice to avoid any inconvenience. #DPTrafficAdvisory.”

Advised to choose an alternate route

The advisory states that there may be traffic overload on the road. Due to this, the general public may have to face trouble. Passengers headed towards railway stations, airports, hospitals etc. have been advised to plan their departure well in advance and take alternate routes to avoid delay.

Movement of heavy and commercial vehicles may be restricted on Mathura Road towards Sarita Vihar flyover, to allow normal flow of traffic on that section. The advisory states that commuters coming from Ashram on Mathura Road and going towards Badarpur and Faridabad are advised to follow Road No. 13A from Slip Road of Sarita Vihar Flyover and then Road No. 13A to U- Take a turn and reach Mathura Road.

Similarly, commuters coming from Ashram towards Noida on Mathura Road are advised to take Ashram Chowk via DND flyway to reach their destination.

Those coming towards Ashram from Faridabad and Badarpur on Mathura Road are advised to take left turn towards Okhia Estate Marg, Crowne Plaza from Slip Road of Sarita Vihar Flyover. The advisory states that commuters coming towards Ashram from Faridabad and Badarpur on Mathura Road are advised to use Mehrauli-Badarpur road via Badarpur border.
