Now the Maharashtra government has given good news to the freedom fighters who played an important role in the independence of the country. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that the Maharashtra government has decided to double the pension of the freedom fighters of the state.

There are more than 6 thousand freedom fighters in the state. According to the new announcement of the government, now a pension of Rs 20,000 will be given. In the first state, this pension was Rs.10,000. This decision made for the freedom fighters was announced by the Chief Minister of the state, Eknath Shinde.

A total of 6,299 freedom fighters in Maharashtra are given financial assistance from the government to make a living. This financial help is given from both the central and state government level. Let us tell you that 6,299 freedom fighters of Maharashtra are given pension for their participation in the 1947 freedom struggle.

Pension increased to Rs 20,000

Apart from this, the Maharashtra government also gives pension to those who took part in the Marathwada Liberation War in 1948 and the Goa Liberation Movement in 1961. They are given pension from the government since 1965. State CM Eknath Shinde said that the government has decided to double the pension of all the freedom fighters of the state. Now the freedom fighters of the state will get Rs 20 thousand pension instead of Rs 10 thousand.
