Low-cost airline company Go First is preparing to increase the salary of its pilots by Rs 100,000 per month and that of first officers by Rs 50,000.

After filing for insolvency on May 2 this year, GoFirst is now trying to restart its operations. The domestic airline has currently suspended all its flights till May 30.

Offer for resigned pilots as well

Domestic airline GoFirst has named the additional pay as retention allowance. According to the email sent to the pilots, the retention allowance will be applicable from June 1. According to Bloomberg’s report, it will also be offered to those pilots who have just left the company, but they can withdraw their resignation by June 15. The airline, which was rebranded as GoFirst two years ago, has said it will bring back longevity bonuses for long serving staff.

GoFirst pilot’s average salary is Rs 530000

According to data from Ambitionbox, the average monthly salary of GoFirst pilots is Rs 5,30,000. Whereas, the salary of a SpiceJet pilot is Rs 7,50,000. SpiceJet has increased the salary of its pilots twice in recent months. The aviation regulator last week gave GoFirst 30 days to submit a revival plan. In this plan, the airline company also has to tell how many pilots it has.

There is a worldwide shortage of staff in the aviation sector.Indigo wants to hire 5000 workers in the financial year 2024.At the same time, Air India wants to recruit more than 4200 cabin crew and 900 pilots this year.
