New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has set a deadline of June 14, 2025, for Aadhaar card holders to update their information online for free. After this date, a fee will have to be paid and a visit to an Aadhaar enrolment centre will be required for updating.
According to the Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Rules, 2016, everyone is required to update their Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) documents every ten years from the date of their Aadhaar enrolment.

What should the documents be like: This portal accepts only JPEG, PNG and PDF files, with a maximum size of 2MB.

1. Visit the official website of UIDAI.
2. Click on the ‘Login’ button and enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and the captcha code shown. An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your registered mobile number for verification.
3. After logging in, review your existing PoI and PoA documents. If updates are required, select the ‘Update Documents’ option available on the dashboard.
4. Select the relevant documents from the drop-down menu and upload clean scanned copies. Make sure the files are in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format and do not exceed 2MB.
5. After uploading, review the details and submit your request. You will receive a Service Request Number (SRN) to track the status of your update.
