DA Hike news: There is good news for crores of central employees and pensioners across the country. This time in July, the dearness allowance (DA) is expected to increase more than last time.

The government has increased DA by 2% for the first half of the current calendar year. Currently, DA for central government employees and pensioners is 55%. The 7th Pay Commission will complete its term on December 31, 2025, so this will be the last revision under the current pay panel. In such a situation, government employees are hopeful that this time there will be a bigger increase in DA than last time.

The second installment of DA in 2025 for central government employees is to be implemented from July 1, 2025. However, it is usually announced in the month of October or November around Diwali. Meanwhile, the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI-IW) for industrial workers has registered an increase of 0.5 points in the month of April, raising hopes of a good increase for the employees.

How much dearness allowance do you get now

Right now, government employees get 55 percent dearness allowance. Let us tell you that dearness allowance is paid on the basic salary of the employees. Suppose you are a government employee and your basic salary is Rs 20,000. You are given 55 percent dearness allowance of the basic salary of Rs 20,000. 55 percent of Rs 20,000 is Rs 11,000. That means right now you get dearness allowance of Rs 11,000 on a basic salary of Rs 20,000. In this way, the total salary will be Rs 31,000.
