Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has given information about this. The Agriculture Minister has given this news at a time when farmers are waiting for the 13th installment.

Let us tell you that it has become clear from a report that about 95 percent of animal husbandry in the country is done by the farmers. The Agriculture Minister said that about half of the indigenous livestock breeds in the country have not yet been classified. He said that there is a need to identify them to promote the agriculture sector.

Started a special campaign for the identification of animals,

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is working fast on this. A special campaign has been started in the country to identify such breeds. After giving the Animal Breed Registration Certificate in a program organized by ICAR, Tomar said, ‘About half of the livestock of the country is not yet classified. We have to identify unique breeds soon, so that these breeds can be saved.

Appreciating ICAR,

the Agriculture Minister said that there are a large number of indigenous breeds of livestock in the country, which need to be identified in all areas. He said that this will help in making the agriculture sector prosperous. Appreciating the ICAR for working in this direction, the minister said, “Such a task is not easy and cannot be accomplished without the cooperation of state universities, animal husbandry departments, NGOs, etc.” ‘

He said that ICAR has started documentation of all animal genetic resources of the country in mission mode in collaboration with all these agencies. The whole world is currently looking at India’s vast diversity in the livestock and poultry sector. The country’s efforts to document animal genetic resources and preserve their genetic diversity have also been appreciated internationally by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
