Arrangement of toll plaza can be a thing of the past
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a big announcement regarding the road infrastructure in the country in the coming days. He has said that before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the road transport infrastructure in the country will be at par with that of the US.
Gadkari is one of those ministers of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government, who is considered the best performer. Along with this, Gadkari has informed about the work going on in the coming days to eliminate toll plazas in the country. If the system of toll plazas is abolished, then it will be a big revolutionary step in the field of road transport.
Old vehicles will also have new number plates
Giving details about this, Gadkari has said that now new number plates will be installed in old vehicles, through which with the help of satellite based GPS and state-of-the-art systems, those vehicles can also be directly monitored. Gadkari said, “The use of tamper-proof high security registration plates in new vehicles started from 2019, from where the government agency can collect all the information about that vehicle. Now we have decided that old vehicles will also be provided with the same plates.
So only half of the toll tax will have to be paid.
The Union Transport Minister told how with this system the toll tax can be halved in the coming days. He has said that now one has to pay the full charge even if the toll plaza is located 60 km away from each other. Now if you use only 30 km of highway, then now with the help of new technology, you will have to pay only half the charge. The Union Transport Minister also said that the central government is working towards freeing the country from toll plazas.
