The Maharashtra government on Tuesday approved a new electric vehicle policy. Under the new policy, passenger electric vehicles (EVs) will be subsidized.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that some EVs will also be exempted from toll. After chairing a state cabinet meeting, Fadnavis said, “The state government has approved a new EV policy, under which passenger electric vehicles will be subsidized. There should be an increase in the manufacturing and use of electric vehicles.” He said that the charging infrastructure will also be strengthened under the new policy.

Water taxi facility will be available at Navi Mumbai International Airport

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday said the Navi Mumbai International Airport will be the first airport in the country to have water taxi facility for passengers. Speaking at a review meeting of government-run planning authority CIDCO, Fadnavis said “multi-level transport connectivity” should be established at the Navi Mumbai International Airport. “Water taxi facility should be provided at this airport. This will be the first international airport in the country to have such a facility. Aircraft repair facility along with good parking facility should also be available. Road, rail, metro and water transport connectivity to the airport should be completed on time,” Fadnavis said.

Emphasis on creating a multi-level transport system from the metro station to the airport
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “A multi-level transport system should be built from the metro station to the airport. Care should be taken to ensure that the citizens do not face any inconvenience in this regard. The work being done through CIDCO should be completed within the stipulated time frame.” The Chief Minister said that the quality of those working in the field of housing and housing construction should be high.
