The Lieutenant Governor had issued an order on November 18, 2024 changing the working hours of government offices. Its aim was to reduce pollution levels by reducing too much traffic on the roads in a limited time. Now the timings have been changed again.
The government has once again changed the office timings for employees working in government offices. Now employees of the departments under the Delhi government will have to reach the government offices at 9:30 am. They will work in the office till 6 pm. But employees under the Delhi Municipal Corporation will have to reach their offices at 9 am. They will work till 5:30 pm.
In fact, when the air pollution had increased a lot in the recent past, the Lieutenant Governor had issued an order on 18 November 2024 changing the working hours of government offices. Its purpose was to reduce the pollution level by reducing too much traffic on the roads in a limited time.
Under this, it was decided to open the government offices under the Delhi government at 10 am, while the offices under the MCD were ordered to open at 8:30 am. The government had also appealed to private sector companies to open and close their offices at different times as per their convenience.
But in the new notification issued by the Lieutenant Governor’s office, it has been said that now the pollution level has come down, so appropriate changes are being made in the opening and closing time of government offices. This order will come into effect with immediate effect.
