Meanwhile, a good news has come for the people of UP and Bihar. Uttar Pradesh is going to get another new expressway which will go to West Bengal via Bihar and Jharkhand. Its total length will be 593 km. According to the government, the estimated expenditure on this is Rs 28500 crore.

In the first phase of the Bharatmala project, 3 additional expressways are to be built, of which this is one. Its width will be about 100 meters and it will be an 8-lane expressway. With this, along with the common people, industries dependent on freight will also get a lot of benefit. Due to this, Bihar, Jharkhand and P. Devotees coming to visit temples from Bengal to Varanasi will also get a lot of relief.

Travel time will be halved

After the construction of this expressway, the journey from Kolkata to Varanasi can be completed in less than 7 hours. Vehicles are allowed to run at a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour on the expressway. In this way, once after boarding the expressway, if the driver drives continuously, then he can reach from one end to the other even in 6 hours. At present, it takes 14 hours to reach Kolkata from Varanasi by road. At present, it takes at least 8-9 hours to reach Kolkata from Varanasi even by train.

What will be the route:

Not only the people of UP and West Bengal, but also the people of Bihar and Jharkhand will be benefited by the construction of this expressway. The Varanasi-Kolkata Greenfield Expressway will enter Jharkhand via Rohtas, Kaimur, Gaya and Aurangabad in Bihar. After this, it will go to West Bengal via Chatra, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh and Bokaro near Ranchi in Jharkhand.

Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway is one of the 3 additional expressways being built under the Bharatmala project. Apart from this, 342 kilometer long Bengaluru-Kadapa-Vijayawada Expressway and Atal Progressway will be constructed at a cost of Rs 23645 crore at a cost of Rs 19320 crore.
