Gurgaon Global City News: Haryana’s Gurugram is already one of India’s fastest-growing cities. However, it is now poised to surpass not only the country’s but also foreign cities. In Global City, India’s most ambitious project, not just Haryana’s, preparations are underway to build something that will directly rival Dubai’s Burj Khalifa. This city is planning to construct the tallest building in the country and the world.

According to reports, the HSIIDC has identified 6.7 acres of land in Haryana’s Global City project for the construction of a proposed 620- to 700-meter-tall mixed-use tower, which could become the country’s tallest building. Notably, the designated area significantly exceeds the area in Downtown Dubai, home to the Burj Khalifa. This could potentially hold the record for being both India’s tallest building and the world’s tallest building.

In such a situation, if the plan to build a huge mixed-use tower of 620 to 700 meters height in Gurugram is realised, then it will not only be the tallest building in the country, but can also give India recognition on the global stage by being included among the tallest skyscrapers in the world.

Sudeep Bhatt, Director of Strategy, Whiteland Corporation, says that Global City is not just a real estate project, but a symbol of a new vision for future urban development in Haryana and India. The proposed tower aims not only to build the country’s tallest building, but also to establish Gurugram as a major hub for global business, innovation, and investment.

He adds, “With improved connectivity, world-class infrastructure, and modern amenities, we are developing an integrated urban ecosystem where business, housing, employment, and a better lifestyle can thrive together. We are confident that this project will play a key role in bringing Gurugram global recognition and setting new standards for India’s economic progress, investment attraction, and modern urban development.”

What is the Global City Project?

The Global City Project is one of the Haryana government’s flagship urban development projects, being developed by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC). Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has also described it as very significant. Spanning approximately 1,000 acres near the Dwarka Expressway, the project is planned to be a modern business, commercial, residential, and institutional hub. It aims to attract global companies, financial institutions, and technology firms.

This proposed tower will be the heart of the project.

According to reports, HSIIDC has identified 6.7 acres of land within Global City for this special tower. This tower could include commercial offices, hotels, retail space, and residential facilities. The state government is also preparing to auction various land parcels to attract investment and accelerate development work. It is being said that this tower could be the heart of the entire project.

Over the past two to three years, the Haryana government has held several rounds of discussions with leading real estate developers from Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. These discussions considered market demand, global standards, and the feasibility of developing such an iconic building. Furthermore, the infrastructure requirements required to build an international-class urban space were assessed.

This new tower will surpass existing records.

Currently, this is India’s tallest building.

If this tower reaches its proposed height of 620 to 700 meters, it will significantly surpass India’s existing tallest buildings. Currently, Mumbai’s Palais Royale, with a height of 320 meters, is the tallest building in the country. Meanwhile, the tallest building in Delhi-NCR is Cyberthum Tower A in Noida, with a height of 213.7 meters. Gurugram’s tallest completed building is Trump Towers Delhi NCR, which stands at 201.53 meters.

The proposed Global City Tower will be more than three times taller than Gurugram’s tallest existing building and nearly double the height of India’s current tallest building. With improved connectivity, modern infrastructure, and significant investment, this project could reposition Gurugram as a global business and urban hub.
