HDFC Bank is telling its customers in the mail that a new version of the mobile app will be available soon. In such a situation, before using this new version, the customer will have to update and verify this app. The app can be used on the mobile which has a SIM card which is registered with the bank.

Old version will not work

The new version will no longer work in the bank’s mobile app. This means that if you are also a customer of HDFC Bank, then you cannot do any transaction through the old version of the mobile app.

The bank has said that in view of the increase in cyber crime cases, this version has been brought to stop it. More cyber security will be provided in this, so that the customer’s banking data will remain safe.

How to update mobile app

  • To update the mobile app, the customer should keep the SIM card of the mobile number registered with the bank inside the device. For example, if you have registered the number 9212367 in the bank, then you can update this app from the same phone in which this SIM card is.
  • Now you have to use debit card or net banking for update. You should keep in mind that the net banking password should not expire.
  • To verify the mobile app, you will have to provide debit card or net banking details once.

How to use mobile app for new customers

  • If you are a new customer and are using the mobile app for the first time, then you must have an active mobile membership. The new customer has to update the device’s MAC ID, SIM card ID and other identities in the database.
