Weather Update 01 July 2023! IMD Alert: At some places the activities of heavy, at some places heavy and at some places moderate to partial rains will continue for the next four-five days. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms in 12 districts on Saturday.

Monsoon has become fully active in Bihar. Due to its effect, it is raining heavily across the state since Friday. Heavy rains have affected life in 12 districts including Patna. During this, 10 people have died due to hailstorm in five districts. The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of heavy rain in 12 districts on Saturday. There is a forecast of good rains for 4-5 days in Bihar. Due to the kindness of monsoon, the faces of the farmers have blossomed.

According to the Meteorological Department, Monsoon is active in entire Bihar, but its effect is more in some districts, causing moderate to heavy rains. During this, 10 people died due to lightning in five districts, while eight were injured. Three each in Kaimur and Nawada, one each in Sheikhpura and Gaya and two in Aurangabad came under the grip of Thanka. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain and thunderclap in 12 districts on Saturday.

Earlier on Friday morning, the rain system became fully active and there was heavy rain in a dozen districts including Patna. Due to heavy rains in Patna, the railway yard was flooded, causing a huge signal problem. Half a dozen planes also took off and landed late at Patna airport. Last year’s record of rainfall in one day in June in Patna has been broken. Here 110 mm of water has fallen in three hours.

The faces of the farmers blossomed

The faces of the farmers of the state have blossomed due to the rain in Ardra Nakshatra. There has been a spurt in littering. At the same time, the farmers who have put the Bichda in Rohini Nakshatra have started preparations for paddy planting. It has been raining in most areas of Bihar including the capital Patna for the last two days. This has brought life to the parched fields. Farmers have also started preparing the fields. There is a crowd of farmers at the shops of fertilizers and seeds.

Water level increased in many rivers including Ganga

After heavy rains, the water level of the rivers has also started rising. In the last 24 hours, the water level of the rivers has increased by eight to 10 cm. However, many rivers, including the Ganges, are still about seven meters below the danger mark. The water level of river Ganga is increasing at all places. Officials associated with disaster management say that due to the rains in Nepal, the water level of many rivers of Bihar is increasing.

The rainy season will continue

According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon trough currently extends from northwest Rajasthan to Nagaland. An associated cyclonic circulation is extending up to South Uttar Pradesh, South Bihar and Sub-Himalayan region. Under its influence, the activities of heavy to very heavy, somewhere heavy and somewhere moderate to partial rains will continue for the next four to five days across the state including Patna.

Warning for these districts

On Saturday, West Champaran, Vaishali, Samastipur, Araria, Purnia, Madhepura, Jehanabad, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Bhagalpur, Jamui and Banka have been warned of heavy rain while Kishanganj and Katihar have orange alert of extremely heavy rain. There is a warning of partial rain, thunderstorm across the state. There will be heavy rains in West and East Champaran, Araria, Kishanganj, Sitamarhi till Sunday.
