LPG Distributors Union took a big decision

According to BS Sharma, President of LPG Distributors Association, the decision to go on strike was taken in the national convention of the association held in Bhopal last week. Members from across the country participated in it and a resolution was passed unanimously. The resolution includes major demands such as increasing commission and stopping complaints of forced delivery of gas.

What are the demands of distributors?

The commission given to distributors is very low, which does not cover their operation cost. The association demands that the government should increase the commission to at least Rs 150 per cylinder. Oil companies are forcibly sending non-domestic cylinders without demand. This is wrong and should be stopped. There are problems in gas distribution under the Ujjwala scheme, which needs to be fixed.

Union may go on a long strike

The union said that a letter has been written to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas regarding all these issues. The union says that if the government does not take any concrete steps within three months, they will go on a long strike. The common people will face the most trouble due to this.

The government had recently made domestic LPG cylinders expensive

Modi government had increased the price of LPG cylinder by Rs 50. Due to this increase, customers of Ujjwala Yojana are getting LPG cylinder for Rs 550. For common people, the price of cylinder has increased to Rs 853.

The price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder for general consumers has increased from Rs 803 to Rs 853. For consumers under the Ujjwala scheme, the price of a 14.2 kg cylinder is now Rs 553, up from Rs 503.
