MGNREGA Wage Increased: Daily wages of MNREGA workers of these states increased

The central government has increased the daily wages of MNREGA workers. According to the data, the increase in wages for the states has been between 2 and 10 percent.

The workers of Haryana will get the highest wages. Whereas, the maximum increase has been made for MNREGA workers of Rajasthan. On an average, an increase of Rs 7 to Rs 26 has been registered state-wise.

Giving a big gift to the laborers of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, the central government has increased the amount they get daily. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme is being implemented for the livelihood security of rural families. Under the scheme, the government provides employment for at least 100 days in a financial year. The order issued by the Center regarding the increased wages will be applicable from April 1, 2023. State wise MNREGA wage rate has been revised so the wage amount may be different in each state.

Wages increased from Rs 7 to Rs 26 per day

The central government has increased the wage rates under the rural job guarantee program MNREGA for the financial year 2023-24. After the decision of the Center, the salary hike of MNREGA workers has been from Rs 7 to Rs 26 state-wise. At the same time, according to the data, the increase in wages for the states has been between two and 10 percent.

Maximum increase in Haryana and Rajasthan

After the decision of the Center, the laborers of Haryana will get the maximum wage amount of Rs 357 per day. Whereas, the maximum increase has been in the amount of laborers of Rajasthan. The workers of Rajasthan will get Rs 255 daily, which was earlier Rs 231.

Bihar-Jharkhand will now get Rs 228 per day

Bihar and Jharkhand have registered an increase of about eight percent in the wages of MNREGA workers as compared to last year. Last year, the daily wage for a MNREGA worker in these two states was Rs 210. Now it has been increased to Rs.228.

Lowest wages in these states

The lowest MGNREGA wage amount has been fixed at Rs 221 only in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, which was earlier only Rs 204 per day in both the states. In this way, a 17 percent increase has been registered as compared to last year. At the same time, the states registering the lowest percentage increase include Karnataka, Goa, Meghalaya and Manipur.
