You will have to pay more charge for staying longer

Solving the long-standing problem of parking at Ajmeri Gate, Northern Railway has introduced a new system under which no fee will be charged for the first 8 minutes after deboarding any vehicle – whether private or commercial. A vehicle will be charged Rs 50 between 8 minutes to 15 minutes and Rs 200 between 15 minutes to 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, a fee of Rs 500 will be charged and the vehicle can be towed away. The new access-controlled parking system has been implemented primarily to reduce traffic congestion at New Delhi Railway Station, especially on the Ajmeri Gate side.

Charges will be taken through Fastag

The parking charge will be collected either through Fastag or through parking receipts issued at kiosks installed at the entrance of the pick-and-drop lane. The fee will be collected at the exit gate, where boom barriers will be installed. Only vehicles dropping passengers will be allowed to enter the main station premises. For picking up passengers, the designated parking area should be used as the waiting time is usually more than 8 minutes, the official said.
