New Toll Tax Rates: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has increased the toll rates on National Highways and Expressways from April 1. This increase has been made up to 5-15 percent.

Toll rates have been increased on the basis of wholesale pricing index. According to Nirman Jambulkar, an official of NHI, toll tax changes every year on the basis of wholesale pricing index. Along with this, the toll fee will also depend on different categories of vehicles. Toll tax in Assam has increased by 15 percent.

About 10 National Highways and Expressways are connected to Delhi-NCR. These include Delhi-Jaypur Highway, Delhi-Gurugram Expressway, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Delhi-Chandigarh Highway, Delhi-Agra Highway, Delhi-Hisar Highway and Delhi-Bulandshahr Highway. Similarly, on more than 500 highways and about 18 expressways across the country, the NHI has increased the toll fee.

There is no change in the toll (Rs 80) for private vehicles on Delhi-Gurugram Expressway . At the same time, the toll for small commercial vehicles has been increased from Rs 115 to Rs 120. Similarly, the toll for minibus has also been increased from Rs 115 to Rs 120. Buses, trucks and vehicles with more than axle, which used to pay Rs 235 earlier, now they will have to pay Rs 245.

Sohna has been increased from Rs 115 to Rs 125. The fee for a light truck has been increased from Rs 190 to Rs 200. Buses and trucks with 2 axles will now have to pay Rs 420 instead of Rs 400. Trucks with three axles will have to pay Rs 455 instead of Rs 435.

From Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

Hilalpur to KMP crossing, a light vehicle will have to pay Rs 95 instead of Rs 90. Toll tax has been increased from Rs 175 to Rs 185 till Ghata, Shamshabad and Barkapara. At the same time, the toll tax from Barkapara to Dausa has been increased from Rs 500 to Rs 525.

Which other major expressways are expensive?

Apart from the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway adjacent to Delhi, Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Delhi-Meerut Expressway and Purvanchal Expressway also remember that you have to pay toll before going. An increase of up to 10 percent can be seen.
