In view of the deteriorating air quality of Delhi, it has once again been decided to impose odd-even rules on vehicles. This rule will be applicable from 13 to 20 November.

At the same time, all schools except classes 10th and 12th will remain closed till November 10. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had called an emergency meeting on pollution on Monday, in which these decisions were taken. During this, the Chief Minister identified the factors increasing pollution and gave instructions to speed up action against them.

After the meeting, Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that since October 30, pollution is continuously increasing due to continuous drop in temperature and decrease in wind speed. He said that after implementing the odd-even rule for a week, the pollution situation will be assessed and then a decision will be taken on extending it further. The average air quality index was recorded at 421 points on Monday. On Sunday it was at 454 points.

Ban will remain in force on BS-3 petrol, BS-4 diesel vehicles

The restrictions applicable on BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel vehicles will continue during odd-even periods. There will also be a ban on diesel powered cargo vehicles. Vehicles carrying essential goods will be exempted from this rule. Odd-even was implemented for the first time in Delhi in January 2016. This had to be implemented in April this year also. After this it was also implemented in November 2019.

No decision on work from home

Gopal Rai said that no decision was taken on work from home in the meeting. Many people are already on leave due to festivals, so it doesn’t have much impact. Therefore, no decision was taken on work from home.

Contact with IIT for artificial rain

Delhi officials have contacted IIT Kanpur to provide artificial rain.

● On 14, 16, 18, 20 November, only those cars whose last number is 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 will be allowed.
● On 13, 15, 17, 19 November, only those cars whose last number is 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 will hit the roads.

School closed till 10th November

It has been decided to close Delhi schools till 10th November. In view of the 10th-12th board exams, they will be allowed to conduct physical classes. Apart from this, all other classes will not run offline. At the same time, orders have been issued to keep schools up to class five in Gurugram-Faridabad closed till further orders.
