After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the central government is in a mood of continuous action. Rapid decisions are being taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi . The government had given 48 hours to the Pakistani citizens living in India to return to their country, the deadline of which has expired. Even after this, the central government has instructed to continue the return of Pakistani citizens from Attari-Wagah border. This order will remain in force till further instructions. Let us tell you that earlier the deadline was fixed till 30 April.
Let us tell you that following the government order issued after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, 786 Pakistani citizens including 55 diplomats, their dependents and support staff have left India through the Attari-Wagah border in the last six days. Officials gave this information on Wednesday. According to them, apart from these, eight Indians holding Pakistani visa have also gone to the neighboring country. This process is continuing even today.
Apart from this, a total of 1,465 Indians, including 25 diplomats and officials, have come to India from Pakistan through the international border with Punjab since April 24. Apart from this, 151 Pakistani citizens holding long-term Indian visas have also come to India.
The government had issued a ‘Quit India’ notice to Pakistani nationals after Pakistan-linked militants killed 26 people, mostly tourists, in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.
The last date for South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) visa holders to leave India was April 26. The last date for medical visa holders to leave the country was April 29. The last date for holders of 12 other categories of visas to leave the country was April 27. These categories include visa on arrival and business, film, journalist, transit, conference, mountaineering, student, visitor, group tourist, pilgrim and group pilgrim visas.
Officials told news agency PTI that on April 29, a total of 94 Pakistanis, including 10 diplomats, left India through the Attari-Wagah border. According to them, 145 Pakistanis, including 36 diplomats, their dependents and support staff, left India on April 28 and a total of 237 Pakistanis, including nine diplomats and officials, left India on April 27, 81 on April 26, 191 on April 25 and 28 on April 24.
Eight Indian nationals on Pakistani visas also left India through the international border crossing point on April 29, sources said.
How many people returned to India
Officials said that similarly, a total of 469 Indians including 11 diplomats and officials returned from Pakistan through the same route on April 29, 146 Indians returned on April 28, 116 Indians including a diplomat returned on April 27, 342 Indians including 13 diplomats and officials returned on April 26, 287 returned on April 25 and 105 Indians returned on April 24.
A total of 22 Pakistani nationals on long-term Indian visas entered the country through the Attari-Wagah border on April 29 and 129 more Pakistanis holding visas of the same category entered India on April 28.
