PAN Card Update: Changing name in PAN card through Aadhaar card is easy, know the complete process

PAN card is an important document. Which is used for work like tax, administration, identity verification etc. PAN card is an important document for filing your income tax return. But sometimes the names on our documents are spelled differently.

Names on other documents do not match due to misspellings or spelling errors. Additionally, people may sometimes need to amend their PAN card name due to legal reasons. It is necessary to have the same name and other information on all the documents. Along with this, if you want to link PAN with Aadhaar, then the details or other information of both the documents must be same for successful linking. You can also change your name in PAN card through your Aadhaar card.

How to change name in PAN card as per Aadhaar card details –

You need to follow the below mentioned procedure to change the details in PAN card –

  1. You must first go to the official website https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html. After this you have to click on PAN card services. After this, again click on change/correction in PAN card.
  2. You will be directed to the page for application for change/correction in PAN card data.
  3. Now after entering your information click on continue.
  4. Click on Yes on the box containing Aadhaar based e-KYC option (All details will be updated as per Aadhaar card) and click on Save.
  5. Enter your PAN number. Then also choose the mode in which you want to get the updated PAN card, which includes both physical PAN card and e-PAN or only e-PAN.
  6. Enter the last four digits of your Aadhaar number and choose whether you want to have the same photo printed on your PAN card as in your Aadhaar card or not.
  7. Enter your name as per your Aadhaar card.
  8. Fill all the basic details and make the payment.
  9. After payment the receipt will appear in front of you. Then click on ‘Continue’.
  10. Aadhaar authentication will take place from the UIDAI server, after which the application will be processed further.
  11. OTP will be sent to your UIDAI registered mobile number. After entering the OTP and indicating your acceptance by checking the appropriate box, your address from the UIDAI database will be populated in the PAN form.
  12. Confirm details and submit.

Now that you have received another OTP, you can use it to e-sign the application using Aadhaar-based e-signature. PAN card correction can be done either online or offline. For offline mode, you need to submit the “Request for New PAN Card or/and Changes or Correction in PAN Data” form at the nearest PAN Facilitation Centre.
