Pensioners Alert: Identity proof deadline announced for defense pensioners, mandatory to get monthly pension, check new deadline

One Rank One Pension (OROP): The Defense Ministry has asked all defense pensioners receiving pension through System for Pension Administration (Raksha) or Sparsh to complete the task of annual identification or life certification immediately.

Defense pensioners will have to do this work as soon as possible to get monthly pension continuously. Pensioners have also been told the method for certification.

Ministry of Defense has requested all the Defense pensioners to complete the annual identity/life certificate for continuous and timely credit of monthly pension. All pensioners should complete this process by 20 February 2023. Let us tell you that even before this, the ministry has informed the pensioners many times for life certification.

The Defense Ministry had earlier approved the extension of pension payment by three months for pensioners of banks who had moved to the Sparsh facility and whose identification was to be made in November 2022. According to the Defense Accounts Department, 3,19,366 defense pensioners who got pension through Sparsh have not yet completed their annual recognition. It is mandatory that such pensioners complete the annual identity or life verification before the deadline.

Annual identity/life verification can be done through the following means.

  • Pensioners can complete the annual identity/life verification by logging on to https://sparsh.defencepension.gov.in/ and opting for the following.
  • Download and upload Manual Life Certificate (MLC) duly signed by the authorized signatory.
  • By opting for Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate (DLC).
  • Pensioners can visit the nearest DPDO or Defense Accounts Service Center to complete their annual identification or life certification. Apart from this, he can also visit the service center set up by SBI, PNB, Bank of Baroda, HDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
  • Android users through Digital Jeevan Pramaan Online/Jeevan Pramaan Face App.
