To curb vehicular pollution, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that the AAP government in Delhi has decided that from October 25, petrol pumps in the national capital will be closed. Petrol and diesel will not be made available without PUC (Pollution Control) certificate.

The minister said that a notification in this regard will also be issued soon. The Environment Minister of Delhi said that a meeting of officials of Environment, Transport and Traffic Departments was convened on September 29 to discuss the implementation and modalities, where it was decided to go ahead with the scheme from October 25.

The minister gave detailed information , the minister said that vehicle emissions are one of the major contributors to the increasing pollution in Delhi. It is imperative to reduce this, so it has been decided that from October 25, petrol, diesel will not be made available at petrol pumps without the PUC certificate of the vehicle.

He also said that the Delhi government will launch its 24×7 war room on October 3 to tackle pollution and ensure effective and serious implementation of the revised Graded Response Action Plan. The minister said that an anti-dust campaign will also be launched in Delhi from October 6, where a surprise inspection will be conducted at construction sites to check dust pollution.

There has been no change in the price of fuel for months

There has been no change in the price of petrol and diesel in the country’s capital Delhi. The last excise duty was reduced in the month of May, due to which the price of petrol and diesel was cut. After which there has been no change in the price of fuel. Talking about the figures, at present, the price of petrol in Delhi is Rs 96.72 per liter and the price of diesel is Rs 89.62 per liter.
