The central government has given big relief to the farmers. The last date for eKYC for farmers under PM Kisan Yojana has been extended. As per the update on PM Kisan Yojana website, now farmers can complete e-KYC till 31st August 2022. Earlier this deadline was given on July 31. Apart from this, if you want to do this work offline, then you can do it by visiting the csc center.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, people are given 6 thousand rupees every year. This amount is given in the account of the farmers in three installments. Each installment is released at an interval of four months. So far, the 11th installment has been released under this scheme and the 12th installment is about to come, in such a situation it is mandatory for the farmers to do e-KYC. Otherwise, the next installment of the scheme will not be sent.

Where can I get e-KYC done?

If you also want to get benefits under this scheme and want to do e-KYC, then you can complete it in two ways. To complete the eKYC, the government has provided this facility on the PMKISAN portal, where the registered farmers can do the eKYC. Similarly you can approach the nearest CSC centers for Biometric based eKYC. The deadline for eKYC for all PMKISAN beneficiaries has been extended till 31st August 2022.

How to do eKYC online

  • First of all go to the website of pmkisan.gov.in.
  • Here click on the EKYC option at the former corner.
  • Now enter your Aadhar Number, Mobile Number and Captcha Code.
  • After that enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number.
  • After giving all the details, your e-KYC will be completed.
  • You will also be informed through SMS on completion of eKYC.

Why e-KYC is necessary

Updating e-KYC has been made mandatory by the central government under the PM Kisan Yojana. This means that if you do not complete the e-KYC then you will not get the next installment. The process of e-KYC has been started under this scheme to prevent fraud, so that ineligible farmers do not take advantage of it.
