The Punjab government has declared a public holiday on April 14 (Monday). This holiday has been declared on the birth anniversary of the founder of the Constitution, Babasaheb Dr. B. R. A letter has also been issued by the state government in this regard.
All schools, colleges, government offices, boards and municipal corporations in Punjab will remain closed on April 14.
It is noteworthy that on April 14, the Punjab Government has declared a gazetted holiday on the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, which has been declared a public holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
Apart from this, there will also be holidays on Good Friday (April 18, Friday) and Lord Parshuram’s birth anniversary (April 29, Tuesday).
