According to media reports, India’s first rapid rail will run from Sahibabad in Ghaziabad to Duhai Depot. This is about 17 kilometer long route. Track making work on this section has been completed. Along with this, the installation work of overhead equipment line has also been completed. The rapid rail running on this section will run at a speed of about 180 km per hour. However, it is not being inaugurated due to the code of conduct applicable for civic elections in Uttar Pradesh, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start it by showing the green flag as soon as the code of conduct is removed.

what is the specialty

The biggest thing is that medical facilities will also be provided to the passengers in the rapid rail. A stretcher has also been arranged in the last coach of the Rapid Rail. In addition, a separate coach has been arranged for patients being referred from Meerut to Delhi to provide transportation at a low cost. Like DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation), separate coaches have been arranged for women and separate seats have been prepared for physically challenged passengers. These seats can be folded when not in use.

what are the facilities

According to media reports, the facilities provided to passengers in Rapid Rail include Wi-Fi for internet access on mobile, mobile-USB charger, large windows, integrated AC system, automatic door control system, luggage storage, driver interaction system, dynamic Route map, CCTV and infotainment system etc. are included.

To top it all, one of the main objectives behind the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) corridor project is to decongest the National Capital Region. The rapid rail system will help prevent vehicular traffic hazards, air pollution and ensure balanced regional development.

How much will be the rent

According to an estimate of DPR, the fare in Rapid Rail will be around Rs 2 per km. Later the private agency will not have the right to increase the fare. Like Metro, the fare will be decided by the committee, which is formed under the chairmanship of the judge. There will be rapid line connectivity on seven lines of Delhi Metro. It will be connected to Munirka, INA and Aerocity stations.
