School Holiday extended: Schools up to 8th will remain closed till January 24, timings changed for students up to 12th

The oppression of winter continues in Uttar Pradesh. Due to the harsh winter, Agra District Magistrate Bhanu Chandra Goswami has once again extended the holidays of schools up to class 8 till January 24. This order will be applicable to all board schools. Now all schools will open on 25th January.

The weather conditions started deteriorating from the beginning of January. The maximum temperature reaches its minimum level. Once again the minimum temperature was 4.3 degrees on Sunday night. Dense fog had started since night. Even in the morning the city was seen wrapped in a blanket of dense fog.

The sun did not come out during the day and people kept yearning for sunshine the whole day. Considering the weather conditions, parents were also looking forward to the holiday. As soon as the District Magistrate issued the order to extend the school holidays by two days around 4 pm, it quickly went viral on social media.

After this, messages from schools regarding holidays till January 24 were also circulated on WhatsApp groups, due to which parents heaved a sigh of relief. The District Magistrate has fixed the time from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm for opening schools from classes 9 to 12.

There is no compulsion of uniform

and the principals have been instructed to install heaters etc. to control the temperature of the classrooms. It is clearly written in the order of the District Magistrate that under no circumstances should children be made to sit in open grounds etc. for pre-board and practical examinations. Schools will not force students to wear uniform in this harsh winter. Children will be allowed to come wearing such clothes which are capable of protecting from cold. Schools that do not strictly follow the order have been warned of strict action.
