Delhi Airport: Three Air India narrowbody aircraft were damaged on Sunday as strong winds and heavy rains caused ground support equipment to break and hit parked aircraft at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).

Delhi Airport: Three Air India narrowbody aircraft were damaged when strong winds and heavy rains toppled ground support equipment at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) on Sunday, hitting parked aircraft. The incident occurred at around 4:40 pm in a parking bay near Terminal 2, airport operator DIAL said.

According to news agency PTI, airport officials said that due to the sudden bad weather, step ladders and other equipment used by the ground handling and engineering teams of Air India and IndiGo were blown away by strong winds and hit the planes, causing damage to three planes.

Following the incident, all three affected Air India A320 aircraft were immediately grounded and inspections and repairs began. Two of these aircraft are expected to return to service within a few days, while one aircraft sustained significant damage and may remain out of service for an extended period.

Air traffic control did not issue any warning.

According to DIAL, no warnings were issued by Air Traffic Control (ATC) to either the airport operator or airlines regarding the sudden change in weather before the storm struck. Typically, upon receiving such warnings, airlines and ground handling teams secure equipment on the runway and tarmac.

Airport sources said that due to strong winds and rain, several ground support equipment were dislodged and severely damaged in the incident. One source said the aircraft’s staircase was significantly impacted, requiring extensive inspection and repair.

However, an airline source told the news agency that three Air India flights as well as those of other operators were affected by the bad weather.

This incident comes just months after an Air India Airbus A350 aircraft was damaged at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA). At that time, an unsecured baggage container was struck by the aircraft’s engine during taxiing (approaching the runway) amid dense fog, causing damage.

The post Storm wreaks havoc at Delhi Airport, 3 Air India planes damaged due to collision with ground equipment first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

Trouble is going to increase soon for people catching flights from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). GMR, the company that operates Delhi Airport, has announced that IGI’s runway 10/28 will remain closed for three months. Due to this decision, no aircraft will be operated from runway 10/28 from 15 June to 15 September.

The runway will be upgraded

Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of Delhi International Airport Limited, said, “Runway 10/28 of Delhi’s IGI Airport is being closed for 90 days. CAT III B equipment and ILS system have to be installed in these 90 days.”

Jaipuriar further said, “Apart from changing the ILS equipment, we are also making a part of the runway, which was not CAT III compliant, we will make it CAT III compliant, which will be beneficial in flight operations during the fog season. He said that during operations in the eastern direction during the fog season, our recovery rate was very high, and there was also a lot of delay. In such a situation, to avoid such inconvenience to the passengers in the future and to not affect flight operations, it has been decided to close the runway for 3 months.”

Flight operations will be affected

Delhi International Airport has a total of four runways, out of which flight operations will continue as before except for one, 10/28. However, the closure of even one runway will affect many flights. Jaipuriar said that during the three-month runway closure, the arrival capacity will temporarily decrease from 42 flights per hour to 32, which will affect major areas like Mumbai and Patna. According to information, 1450 aircraft operate from Delhi Airport every day.

More than 100 flights will be affected daily

Jaipuriar said that more than 100 flights will be affected due to the runway closure. About 114 flights will be cancelled every day, including both incoming and outgoing flights. While 43 flights will be rescheduled. According to Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, only 7-8% of the daily incoming passengers will be affected. However, passengers have already been informed about the inconvenience caused to them and the changes in flight operations.

Passengers’ convenience was taken care of

The CEO of Delhi International Airport Limited said that this time has been chosen so that passengers do not face any inconvenience. Because this is not the peak time. Secondly, all the preparations have been completed in advance so that passengers do not face any problem in travelling this time. He said that the current decision has been taken after several rounds of discussions with airlines, DGCA, ATC and Civil Aviation Ministry.

Flight operations will be facilitated during fog

Runway 10/28, one of the four runways of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), is to be upgraded to CAT 3B-compliant status, along with its Instrument Landing System (ILS). After the upgradation works, the runway will be fully ready to handle low visibility operations (LVO) from both its ends instead of just one end at present. After the upgrade, the airport will have three runways capable of low visibility operations, which will enable it to better manage operations during winter fog. In fact, being in North India, Delhi airport is engulfed in dense fog during winters. In such a situation, there is a problem in aircraft operations at the country’s largest airport.

Jaipuriar said that CAT-3B compliance for runway 10 will be completed by November 27. The biggest benefit of this will be that the time taken to deal with fog during easterly winds will be reduced from six hours to three hours.

It is worth noting that the work of upgrading the runway was started in April, but during that time a large number of aircraft were affected. In such a situation, the Ministry of Civil Aviation intervened in the matter and directed to proceed with the work, after which the work was stopped and now the upgradation work will be started again from June 15.

The post Delhi airport runway closed for 3 months, more than 100 flights will be cancelled first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

New Delhi: Worrying news is coming out for air passengers traveling from Delhi Airport . In fact, Delhi Airport Authority has decided to cancel 114 flights per day during the three months from June 15 to September 15 and will reschedule 86 flights. Airport operator Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) announced this on Friday.

Why is this decision being taken?

In fact, due to maintenance work, it has been decided to close the runway for three months from June 15 to September 15. The matter has been settled between airlines and other stakeholders. Everyone has agreed to it. DIAL said that it has rescheduled 86 flights to non-peak hours.

Meanwhile, 114 flights (57 arrivals and 57 departures) will be cancelled per day during the upgradation work of runway 28/10 to make it CAT-IIIB compliant for the upcoming fog season .

DIAL chief executive Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said on Friday that we are better prepared for this exercise now and consultations and stakeholder opinions were taken over the last few weeks. He admitted that these works were not done earlier, which led to problems in April.

Trouble in Apri

The first attempt to upgrade runway 28/10 in April had to be cancelled within four weeks as flight schedules became chaotic. The airport was unable to handle its daily flight load, a situation made worse by unseasonably strong easterly winds, which reduced the hourly arrival rate from 42 flights to 32 flights per hour.

The post Delhi Airport: 114 flights will be cancelled daily from Delhi airport for 3 months, 86 will be rescheduled first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) has issued a new advisory for passengers on Monday. It said that all operations are going on normally at Delhi Airport, but there may be a change in the timing of some flights.

The Airport Authority has made a special appeal to the passengers. He said that passengers are requested to get the latest information from their airline. At the same time, the 32 airports which were closed due to Indo-Pak tension have been reopened. The NOTAM issued at the airport has been withdrawn. The Airport Authority has given this information.

NOTAM issued at 32 airports was withdrawn

On May 10, amid Indo-Pak tension, 32 airports in India were announced to be temporarily closed for all civilian flight operations. But now the NOTAM issued at these 32 airports has been withdrawn. This decision has been taken after review. These 32 airports include Adampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Avantipora, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Mundra, Nalia, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hiraser), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thois and Uttarlai.

Giving information, the Airport Authority said that it is informed that 32 airports, which were temporarily closed for civil aircraft operations till 05:29 PM on 15 May 2025, are now available for civil aircraft operations with immediate effect. Passengers are advised to check the flight status directly with the airlines and check the airlines’ websites for regular updates.

This update regarding flight timing

Meanwhile, Indira Gandhi International Airport said in a statement, “All operations are going on normally at Delhi Airport. However, due to the changing airspace situation and increased security measures by the Civil Aviation Security Bureau, the timing of some flights may change and security checks may take longer. The airport authority has asked passengers to get the latest information from the airline. It has also said that passengers should follow the rules of hand bag and check-in luggage. Arrive early to avoid possible delays in security checks.

Cooperate with airline and security staff. Check flight status information from your airline or Delhi airport’s official website. The airport authority further said, “Please trust only official sources and avoid sharing incorrect information. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. We are working closely with all concerned parties to ensure a safe and smooth travel experience.”

The main runway of IGI Airport has resumed operations from today after CAT-IIIB upgradation, which will solve the problem of flight delays and diversions.

Due to the closure of the main runway of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) for the last few days to upgrade the CAT-IIIB instrument landing system, many flights were getting delayed and many flights had to be diverted. But, this problem will be solved from today because Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has reopened this runway from today. However, the upgradation work on the runway is not yet complete.

The main runway 10/28 of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) was closed on 8 April to upgrade the CAT-IIIB Instrument Landing System (ILS) here. The old system has been improved on the Vasant Vihar side and the CAT-IIIB system has been installed for the first time on the Dwarka side. It is worth noting that due to the closure of this runway, the capacity of IGI Airport had reduced and only three runways were in operation. Due to easterly winds, the airport was able to land a maximum of 32 aircraft every hour, whereas many more flights are planned. Due to this, an average of 94 flights were getting affected daily.

After the runway was

closed, flights in Delhi faced huge problems. Due to the unusual easterly winds blowing for some time, planes had to land from Dwarka and take off from Vasant Vihar. This affected air traffic and many flights were delayed and diverted.

Government intervened

Seeing the inconvenience being faced by passengers, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu had advised Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) to get the ILS system work done after the summer holidays. However, DIAL said that this work has been done as per the plan after the consent of all the necessary agencies. DIAL says that runway 10/28 will be closed again between June and September 2025, when the number of tourists will be less and the wind direction will also be favorable.

Air Fare Hike: Those who travel by air should now get ready for an expensive journey. Air fares are going to increase. Due to the proposed increase in charges at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), passengers may have to spend more money for air travel. According to Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), due to the increase in tariff, domestic air fares may increase by 1.5% to 2% and international fares by about 1%.

Reason for fee hike?

Delhi International Airport Limited has proposed a revision of the User Development Fee (UDF) charged from airlines and passengers. Under this proposal, the Per Passenger Revenue (YPP) may increase from the current Rs 145 to Rs 370. Currently, the User Development Fee is only Rs 77 per passenger, which will be increased and implemented under the new framework.

Impact on passengers’ pockets

Domestic airfare: May increase by 1.5% to 2%.

International fares: Less than 1% increase possible

New tariff slab: 30% airline charges and 70% passenger charges

Increase compared to 2006: approximately 140% increase.

When will the new fee be applicable?

This proposal of Delhi International Airport Limited has been submitted to the Airport Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA). If approved, this new tariff slab will be applicable from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2029.

The growing needs of Delhi airport

Delhi airport handles the movement of about 10.9 crore passengers annually. In view of the increasing crowd and demand for modern facilities, a proposal has been made to increase the fee. However, this has increased the possibility of travel becoming expensive for the passengers. Passengers will have to be prepared for this change. If the proposal is approved, the cost of air travel may be higher than before.

It has three terminals – T1, T2 and T3. Currently, T1 and T2 are used only for domestic flights.

There is information that Terminal 2 of the airport will be closed for four to six months. Let’s know more about this.

Delhi airport operator DIAL (Delhi International Airport Limited) on Friday said the four-decade-old Terminal 2 (T2) will be closed for four to six months next fiscal for renovation work. The revamp work is expected to be completed in the September quarter.

The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), located in the national capital, is also the busiest airport in the country. It has three terminals – T1, T2 and T3. Currently, T1 and T2 are used only for domestic flights.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said in a release that the renovation work of T2 will commence in 2025-26 and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of FY26. The financial year will begin from April 1, 2025. According to DIAL, “Terminal 2 will be temporarily closed for about 4 to 6 months to carry out these renovations.”

“The temporary closure of Terminal 2 is expected to cause minimal disruption to operations, as the new Terminal 1 is capable of handling the additional load, ensuring uninterrupted service to passengers,” the release said. Terminal 2 was built 40 years ago by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

“The decades-old terminal will undergo several major changes aimed at improving the passenger experience and increasing the airport’s capacity to meet future growth demands,” the release said.

DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said the renovation of the four-decade-old T2 is the need of the hour. He also said the overall passenger experience will be enhanced by upgrading key infrastructure, improving operational efficiency and enhancing passenger comfort.

“The terminal’s projected passenger capacity is expected to peak by FY 2025-26, and the changes will be crucial in meeting the growing demand for domestic passengers,” he said. The Delhi airport handles around 1,300 flights daily.

A new facility has now been started at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) for those passengers whose flights are delayed by three hours or more. The airport administration has built special enclosures so that passengers can disembark early, go through security checks and re-enter the boarding area.

The aim of this new arrangement is to reduce the disruptions in flight schedules and inconvenience to passengers in winter, when flights are often delayed due to dense fog. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL)

Which started the new system , said that under this new initiative, special enclosures have been built at all three terminals. The purpose of these enclosures is to provide assistance to passengers whose flights are delayed for a long time. Earlier, when flights were late, passengers had to re-enter the terminal from the main entrance. In this process, they had to go through security checks, which usually took two hours or more. Now, under the new arrangement, when the flight is delayed, passengers can go directly to these special enclosures. Security checks have been arranged in these enclosures so that passengers have to go through only a simple and quick security check before re-entering the boarding area. This saves a lot of time and they do not have to face much hassle.

New Security Check Process

DIAL spokesperson said, “We are installing special screening machines in these enclosures for security checks. Their purpose is to conduct security checks only for those passengers whose flights are delayed. Earlier, these passengers were taken to the main entrance of the airport where they had to go through a long security check along with other passengers. Now this entire process will be completed in just a few minutes.” This new arrangement will save passengers as much time as it used to take earlier. Earlier it used to take them two hours or more to go through the security check, but now this time will be reduced to just a few minutes.

Travel experience during flight delays

Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO, DIAL, said about this initiative, “This step will provide a better travel experience to the passengers. Especially in winters, when flights get delayed due to heavy fog, this new arrangement will come as a relief to the passengers. Now they will not take as much time as before, and they will be able to return to the airport quickly and catch their flight.” He further said, “Instead of taking the passengers to the entrance of the airport, we will bring them directly to the reverse entry point. This will reduce the time taken for deboarding and boarding to a great extent as compared to earlier.”

Why was this step taken?

This initiative has been taken under the new guidelines of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, which were issued in April. According to these guidelines, when flights are delayed and passengers have already boarded, they do not have to re-enter the main entrance of the airport. Instead, they have to quickly go through these special fences and do a quick security check so that they can board on time for their flight.

How will passengers benefit?

This new system will prove to be helpful especially in winters, when the flight conditions are poor due to dense fog. This process will allow passengers to re-enter the terminal building in less time, so that their time is not wasted and they will be able to prepare for their flight quickly. Earlier, where passengers had to re-enter from the main entrance and go through a long security check, now this entire process will be completed quickly and smoothly.

This new initiative at Delhi Airport is a positive step for passengers who were facing inconvenience due to delayed flights. Now, special enclosures will help passengers disembark quickly, go through security checks and arrive for boarding. This will save passengers time and provide them with a better experience.

Delhi air pollution: The national capital Delhi witnessed dense fog for the first time this season on Wednesday (November 13). Due to dense fog, visibility became zero at Delhi airport.

An official said that due to low visibility, routes of some flights were changed. India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that at 8:30 am, visibility was recorded at zero meters at Indira Gandhi International Airport, while the runway visual range at various places was between 125 and 500 meters.

The IMD said that very dense fog started to set in around 5.30 am on Wednesday, leading to haze in various parts of the national capital. “A thick layer of fog engulfed Delhi by morning, reducing the visibility to 125 metres in some areas,” a Met official told PTI.

Meanwhile, the air quality remained in the ‘very poor’ category for the 15th consecutive day. Its level was 366 at 9 am. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, two monitoring stations including Anand Vihar and Aya Nagar reported air quality in the ‘severe’ category. The Meteorological Department has predicted light fog during the day and the maximum temperature will be around 32 degrees Celsius.

Route of 7 flights changed

Flight operations were affected in the national capital on Wednesday morning due to low visibility. At least seven flights arriving at Delhi airport had to be rerouted. Several flights were delayed. The weather department said that very dense fog started to cover Delhi around 5.30 am and visibility reduced in various parts of the city.

An official said that due to bad weather, six flights have been diverted to Jaipur since 7 am. While one was diverted to Lucknow. Another official said that the operation of some flights has been delayed. At present, the visibility is improving. Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) is one of the busiest airports in the country.

Delhi Airport Air Train: Passengers traveling from Delhi Airport will soon get the facility of Air Train. Let us tell you who will get this facility and what will be the fare.

Delhi Airport Air Train: A new facility is going to start for the people living in Delhi. Now the passengers traveling from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport will soon get the facility of Air Train. Now passengers will get connectivity at all three terminals of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Now passengers are going to get the facility of Air Train for traveling to these three terminals.

Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport is operated by Delhi International Airport Limited i.e. DIAL. Now the question in the minds of passengers is when will the Airtrain service start and which passengers will get its facility. Let us tell you.

What is AirTrain?

This train will be a special train in a way. It will take the passengers inside the airport from one terminal to another. This train will be a fully automatic train. It will keep running continuously without stopping. According to Delhi International Airport Limited, a plan is being prepared to implement an automatic people mover system at Delhi Airport. Through this, the distance of 7.5 km between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 will be covered through Airtrain.

How much will the fare be?

Passengers of Delhi Airport are now waiting for when the Airtrain will start. Because its start will benefit the passengers a lot. So let us tell you that at present no fixed date has been decided for this. But it is estimated that this project can be completed by the year 2027. On the other hand, if we talk about its fare, it has not been decided yet.

Who will get this facility?

There are three terminals at Delhi Airport, which include Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Currently, passengers have to take a bus or a car to reach all these terminals. Which takes a lot of time. But the Air Train will start from Terminal 1 of the airport and go to Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Along with this, the Air Train will also pass through Aerocity and Cargo City. With the service of the Air Train, the distance between these terminals will be covered in a very short time. That is, people who travel to the airport terminal will get this facility.

New Delhi. India’s first air train or automated people mover (APM) system will soon be launched at Delhi airport, which will connect Terminals 1, 2, 3, Aerocity and Cargo City. This will provide seamless travel to passengers and reduce the need for shuttle buses.

The project is expected to be completed by 2027. Tender has been issued for the construction of Automated People Mover (APM). This APM system will provide fast, seamless and safe connectivity between T1 and T3/2. APM will be run between Terminal 3 and T2 of Delhi Airport on one side and T1 on the other side. The air train will have four stops – T2/3, T1, Aerocity and Cargo City. The air train is likely to run by the year 2027. The total length of the air train track will be 7.7 km.

This is India’s first air train project. The selection process will take into account the bidder’s cost and revenue sharing model or financial assistance offered for the project. An official said, “If everything goes as planned, the tender can be given by the end of this financial year. The construction work of the project is targeted to be completed by the end of 2027.”

The cost may come to Rs 2000 crore

According to a report in the Times of India, the total cost of this project will be around Rs 2,000 crore. The Civil Aviation Ministry has directed that development fee will not be charged before the completion of the project. The Air Train that DIAL had earlier planned had six stops. The government had rejected DIAL’s proposal as it would have increased the travel time between T1 and T2/3.

The facility will be free.

Air trains around the world are usually free for passengers, but the cost of airport infrastructure is recovered from airlines in the form of landing and parking charges, or through user development fee (UDF). In such a situation, it is believed that this service will be free for passengers at IGI Airport as well. The need for an air train at Delhi Airport has been felt for a long time. The reason for this is that 25% of the passengers at the airport are transit flyers, who have to go from one terminal to another.

Delhi Airport: Attention IndiGo Airlines passengers flying from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Now their flights will take off for their destination from Terminal One (T-1) instead of Terminal Two or Three.

As per the pre-planned scheme, IndiGo has started shifting its flights from Terminal Two and Three to T-1. In the first phase, the airline has shifted about 37 of its flights to T-1, whose operation has started from September 2.

According to a senior official of IGI Airport, Indigo Airlines has shifted 11 flights from Mumbai, 5 from Hyderabad, 5 from Kolkata, 3 from Bengaluru, 2 each from Dharamshala and Pantnagar from Terminal 2 and 3 to Terminal 1. Apart from this, one flight each from Ahmedabad, Mopa, Aizawl, Dimapur, Raipur, Nagpur and Dehradun has also been shifted to Terminal 1. It is worth mentioning that Indigo Airlines operates around 72 domestic flights from Delhi Airport.

According to airline sources, the remaining 35 flights will be shifted to Terminal One in a phased manner. Let us tell you here that due to heavy rains in Delhi in the past few days, the roof outside Terminal One-D collapsed. After which, all the flights operating from Terminal One were shifted to T-3 and T-2. On August 17, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) started flight operations from the newly built Terminal One with 17 flights of Spice Jet.

IndiGo passengers will enter the terminal from this gate.

DIAL has designated separate gates for IndiGo and SpiceJet airlines operating from T1. While SpiceJet passengers are entering the terminal from the ground floor, IndiGo passengers will have to enter the terminal from gate number 5 and 6 on the first floor. To reach T1 gate number 5 and 6, IndiGo passengers will have to turn right from the metro station gate. After this, they will have to go under the ramp and proceed towards the Domestic Airport Police Station. After going a few meters ahead, they will have to take a U-turn from the right and then climb the ramp to reach Terminal 1 gate number 5 and 6.

Recently, Delhi’s IGI Airport was ranked 10th in the list of the world’s busiest airports. In the year 2024, 72.2 million people passed through Delhi Airport. And this in itself is a huge achievement.

Every day, about 50 thousand passengers come and go through Delhi airport. Many of them are from different states of India. Recently, the Chief Minister of Punjab has launched a help center for the people of his state at Delhi airport. The citizens of the state will be able to take help from this help center in case of any problem. We will tell you how you can take help.

Punjab sets up a help center at Delhi airport

The Punjab government has set up a help center at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport for the Punjabis coming and going and for those Punjabis who are NRIs. Many people from Punjab keep coming and going to Australia-New Zealand, United Kingdom and Canada. That is why Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has set up a help center at IGI Airport to help them.

New Delhi: Server downtime has created chaos in the country and the world. Neither the server is working nor the planes are able to fly. There is a problem in the check-in system from Delhi Airport to Mumbai Airport. The server is not working.

Due to this, flights are not able to fly. This problem is in many countries including India. People are facing a lot of trouble due to server downtime. Flights of many companies are not able to fly.

Due to technical fault, there is chaos at airports across the world. Air services have been affected at many places. From ticket booking to check-in, nothing is happening at airports. Flights of American Airlines, Delta and United Airlines have also been affected. In India, this problem is currently at Delhi, Mumbai and Goa airports. Bank operations have also been affected.

However, Delhi Airport has informed that check-in is being done in manual mode at Delhi Airport. The server downtime has not affected much but work is being done slowly. T2 terminal is being affected more than Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport. It is being said that the work of companies which are dependent on Microsoft’s Windows operating system is being affected.

Which airlines are facing problems?

American Airlines,
Delta Airlines,
Turkish Airlines,
United Airlines,
Indigo
, SpiceJet

Which airports are facing technical issues

Mumbai
Berlin
Sydney
Delhi

Actually, not only airlines, work has come to a standstill in many tech companies as well. Servers of big multinational companies like TCS, IBM, HCL, Accenture are down today, due to which work is not being done. In simple language, all the sectors dependent on Microsoft’s Windows Operating System are getting affected. The broadcast of many news channels in Britain has also stopped.

Delhi airport operator DIAL on Tuesday said it has introduced a Sellou Service system that will allow passengers to drop their baggage, collect tags and print boarding passes to complete the check-in process in less time.

DIAL (Delhi International Airport Ltd) said the new one-step quick baggage drop solution reduces the check-in process from one minute to just 30 seconds.

Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) is now offering a faster and seamless check-in experience with its new self-service baggage drop system. This innovation makes Delhi one of the best in terms of airport efficiency in India.

This makes Delhi Airport the second airport in the world to offer this service after Toronto. Let us know how the check-in service with self-service baggage drop works.

How the feature works

Passengers can bypass the traditional check-in desks and go straight to the Self-Service Bag Drop (SSBD) units located in Terminals 1 and 3. Currently, this service is available for Air India, IndiGo and Air India Express passengers.

At the SSBD unit you will scan your boarding pass or use a facial recognition camera for identification. Then, simply drop your luggage onto the conveyor belt.

For a faster process, choose the ‘Quick Drop Solution’. This is a one-step option, which eliminates the need to scan your boarding pass again. All the information is already attached to your baggage tag. With Quick Drop, check-in is done in just 30 seconds!

Benefits for passengers

The self-service system significantly reduces check-in time, allowing you to reach the airport with ease.

With this you get better convenience and control. You will not have to stand in long lines. Also, you will be able to manage the check-in process as per your wish.

This innovative technology makes your journey through Delhi Airport easier and less stressful.

Collect and attach your baggage tags at conveniently located Common Use Self-Service (CUSS) kiosks when you arrive at the airport.

Helping to improve the travel experience

Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO, DIAL said, “We are proud to introduce this cutting-edge technology at Delhi Airport. The self-service bag drop system exemplifies our commitment to leverage advanced technology to enhance the travel experience for our passengers.”

So, the next time you fly from Delhi, take advantage of the new self-service baggage drop and enjoy a faster, more convenient check-in process.

Delhi International Airport Limited said that from January 19 to January 26, there will be restrictions on flights between 10:20 am and 12:45 pm. (Flight Banned and Republic Day 2024)

This week, the NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) said that during the period of January 19-25, landing or take-off of non-scheduled flights of scheduled airlines and chartered flights will not be allowed from 10 am to 1.15 pm.

Earlier there was a ban till 26-29 January

According to the NOTAM issued earlier this week, these restrictions will be in place from 6 am to 9 pm during the period from January 26 to 29. Generally, NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) is a notice containing essential information for personnel involved in flight operations.

Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest

Let us tell you, India will celebrate its 75th Republic Day on 26 January. During this period, French President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest. This will be the sixth time that a French head of state will be the chief guest on Republic Day. In this, for the first time all women marching and brass band contingents of Border Security Force (BSF) will participate on the duty path this year.

Delhi Airport running cis planning to increase the fee charged from Airlines. In such a situation, it is possible that air travel tickets from Delhi may increase in the coming days. What is this whole matter after all…

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the operator of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, has planned to collect a little extra from the airlines. In fact, many airlines keep their planes parked in the ‘plane parking space’ of Delhi airport. DIAL has planned to increase the parking fees of these aircraft.

DIAL says that these planes of the airlines have not been flying for a long time and are, in a way, out of service. Therefore, it has planned to charge more from the airlines for such long standing aircraft, as these aircraft occupy the parking space of the airport and this creates problems in the operation of flights at the airport.

The planes are just standing in the parking lot

Recently, engine problems were found in the planes of many airlines. This includes Airbus aircraft with Pratt & Whitney engines. Due to this, even airlines like ‘Go First’ have reached the verge of closure. At the same time, technical faults have been seen in many aircraft of Indigo and Air India and the number of such cases is increasing. These planes occupy the parking space of the airport.

DIAL spokesperson said that at present about 64 aircraft of different airlines including IndiGo, SpiceJet and Air India are standing idle at Delhi airport. These include 24 aircraft of Indigo, 6 of SpiceJet, 2 of Air India and one aircraft of Alliance Air. At the same time, 23 aircraft of airlines Go First, 5 of Zoom Air and 3 of Jet Airways, which have stopped operations, are also parked at the airport. Whereas there are 295 parking spaces for planes at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGAI).

Higher parking fees will be collected

DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar says that in the coming days, when we will review the aircraft traffic at the airport, then we will consider charging some more fees from the airlines who keep the aircraft parked here for more than a certain time limit. May go. Traffic at Delhi airport will now be reviewed early next year.

If parking fees for airlines are increased. Then it is possible that people may have to pay a little more fare for air travel, because the company can compensate this extra expense from the customers. Anyway, ‘airport charges’ are an essential part of the air travel ticket.

The post Delhi airport is going to increase these fees first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

An Air India pilot died due to anxiety during a training session at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. On Thursday, an official gave information about this matter. Let us tell you that the deceased was identified as Himanil Kumar. The age of the deceased is stated to be 37 years.

Symptoms of fainting seen during training session

Actually, the training session was organized in the operations department of Air India at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi. During this time, Himanil Kumar showed signs of restlessness. On this his colleagues ran to help him.

Colleagues suspected a heart attack. According to officials, a lot of efforts were made to bring him back to consciousness. When he did not regain consciousness even after several efforts, he was taken to the airport hospital, where he was declared dead.

Deemed fit in medical examination

Let us tell you that Senior Commander Kumar was taking training in operating wide-body aircraft after narrow-body aircraft. He had passed his medical examination on August 23 and was deemed fit, having started training on October 3 to transition from operating the A320 aircraft to the Boeing 777 aircraft, an official said. There were no reports of concerns related to fatigue in relation to their flying duties. Kumar had resumed training on the day of the incident after returning from leave.

Air India standing with the family in grief

An Air India spokesperson said that we are saddened by the demise of our colleague Captain Himanil Kumar. Captain Kumar was a senior commander who had come to our operations office at T3 Delhi airport as a routine procedure. He suddenly felt uneasy in the office. Colleagues immediately helped him. He was then taken to the airport hospital, where he died despite all efforts by the doctors. They said Kumar was not on active flying duty and was undergoing conversion training to operate wide-body aircraft. Air India team stands in grief with Captain Kumar’s family.

The post Air India pilot fainted during training at Delhi airport, died in hospital first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

The facilities available to passengers at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) are going to increase. In fact, the facility of self baggage drop has been started for passengers at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

After the introduction of this facility, passengers will now be able to get rid of standing in line for depositing their luggage at the airport. After this, the waiting time of the passengers coming to the airport will also be reduced. After this facility, the waiting time of passengers will also reduce to 15-20 minutes. Also, after this facility, it will be easier for the passengers to check in at the airport.

At which terminal the facility started

Self-baggage drop facility for passengers at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) in Delhi has been started at terminal number three. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the managing body of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, has installed 14 SBD machines including 12 automatic ones to facilitate self baggage drop. However, at present this facility will be available only to domestic passengers. After getting all necessary approvals, this facility will also be started for international passengers.

Delhi International Airport Limited issued a release

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the organization that manages Indira Gandhi International Airport, issued a release related to this service, saying that currently passengers of the country’s largest airline company Indigo will be able to use this facility. After this, passengers of Vistara, Air India, Air France, and British Airways will also be given the benefit of this facility.

How to use this service

Passengers of Indira Gandhi International Airport will be able to use the facility of self baggage drop in two stages. For this, passengers will first have to take the check-in kiosk boarding pass and baggage tag. Passengers will then have to manually tag their checked baggage. Passengers will then have to scan their boarding pass near the machine.

Passengers will then have to declare that they are not carrying any prohibited or dangerous goods. After this, the passengers will have to keep the luggage on the conveyor belt. After this whole process, your luggage will automatically reach the flight. Along with this, the machine installed for this will also weigh and scan the goods.

The post Delhi airport New Service: Self baggage drop service started at IGI Airport, now no need to stand in line to deposit bags first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.
