The hostel subsidy was ₹6,750 per month, which has been increased to ₹8,437.50. The Children’s Education Allowance for children with disabilities was ₹4,500 per month, which has been increased to ₹5,625 per month. The Finance Department has stated that when the DA for government employees reaches 50 percent, the Children’s Education Allowance and Hostel Subsidy will automatically increase by 25 percent.

The department was asked to clarify its position on this matter from several quarters. The department discussed the matter and stated that the 25 percent increase would be effective from January 1, 2024.
