The problems of Tata Group company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) may increase. In fact, the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has filed a complaint against TCS with the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
The complaint alleged that TCS was unfairly forcing its more than 2000 employees to transfer to different cities. NITES has requested the Labor Ministry to look into possible labor code violations. Along with this, a request has been made to take action against TCS.
Appeal to make new rules: According to the news of Live Mint, Harpreet Singh of NITES said that we also request the ministry to make new policies and rules regarding unethical transfer of IT employees. According to the complaint dated November 15, these forced transfers are causing immense hardship to both the workers and their families. NITES said it has received more than 180 complaints from employees.
A TCS official told Mint that these transfers are routine. However, there has been no official response from the company on this. NITES has also highlighted the lack of clarity in TCS’ communication regarding transfers. It had earlier accused TCS of delaying new appointments and demanded compensation for those affected.
