80,000 employees working in Indian Railways are going to get bumper gift. Actually, the salary of all these candidates is going to increase, for which new provisions will be implemented. In fact, the supervisory cadre of Indian Railways will get a chance to reach higher pay scale at par with Group A officers.

For this, the Railways implemented a new provision. Through the new provision, the salary of 80 thousand railway employees is expected to increase. The salary of all these employees was not increasing for a long time.

Announcing the new provision on Wednesday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that there was a stagnation in the pay scale of the supervisory cadre in Level-7 of the Railways and there was little scope for their promotion. Although, these employees may not be promoted, but there will be a big increase in their salary.

What did the Railway Minister say?

Ashwini Vaishnav said in the press conference, ‘For the last 16 years there was a demand for an increase in the pay scale of the supervisor cadre. The only way of promotion was to get selected by giving Group ‘B’ exam. Now provision has been made for 50 percent employees to go from level 7 to level 8.

He said, ‘Provision has been made for 50 percent employees in non-executive grade to reach level 9 by getting promotion from level-8 in four years.’

Who will benefit from the new provision?

This move of railways is expected to benefit 40,000 employees of supervisor category like station master, ticket checker, traffic inspector. All these people are considered as Railway ‘field level workers’. The increase in pay grade means that everyone will get an additional salary of Rs 2,500 to Rs 4,000 per month on an average.

Because of this, the budget of the Railways will increase by Rs 10,000 crore. But the Railway Minister said that this step is financially neutral. The savings made through diesel bills will be used to meet this budget
