7th Pay Commission: At the end of September last month, the central government had announced to increase dearness allowance for its employees.

It was increased from 34 per cent to 38 per cent. Since then, many state governments have started the process of making announcements to increase dearness allowance for their employees. Now the name of another state has been added to this episode.

The cabinet of the Jharkhand government on Monday approved a proposal to increase the dearness allowance by four percent for its employees and pensioners. This increase will be effective from July 1, 2022. The official said that 1.35 lakh employees and pensioners will benefit from this decision. This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Dearness Allowance increased from 34 percent to 38 percent
Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel said that with this decision, dearness allowance of state government employees and pensioners has increased from 34 percent to 38 percent. This will benefit 19,3000 employees of the state. Due to increase in DA, there will be an additional burden of 42 crores on the state government.
