7th Pay Commission DA Hike: In the cabinet meeting, it was announced last day to increase the DA of central employees by 4 percent. After this decision of the cabinet, dearness allowance has been increased from 34 percent to 38 percent. Now a notification has been issued regarding the increase in dearness allowance of central employees. The notification for increasing dearness allowance has been issued by the Department of Expenditure (DOE) of the Ministry of Finance.
In March, the dearness allowance was increased by 3 percent , in the information given in the notification, it has been said that the revised rates of dearness allowance will be implemented from July 1, 2022. Soon the money will come in the account of the employees. Due to the decision of the government to increase dearness allowance, 50 lakh central employees and 62 lakh pensioners will get a big relief. Earlier, 3% dearness allowance was increased by the Union Cabinet in March. At that time the DA had increased from 31 per cent to 34 per cent. Let us know about the main things of the notification-
1. Dearness allowance of 38 percent will be given to central employees instead of 34 percent. This allowance will be on the basis of basic pay. The revised rate will be applicable from July 1, 2022.
2. Under the Seventh Pay Commission, ‘Basic Pay’ has been fixed on the basis of different levels. This revised pay structure has been approved by the central government. There is no special allowance in Basic Pay.
3. Basic pay is an essential part of the salary of any central employee. It is treated as salary under FR9(21).
4. In the notification from the Department of Expenditure (DoT), it has been said that the amount of 50 paise or more in the payment of dearness allowance will be considered as full rupee. An amount less than that can be ignored.
5. According to the notification, the benefit of revised DA will be available to the civilian employees of Defense Services. This expenditure will come under the head of that particular Defense Service Estimate.
