DA Hike: After the Centre, now the good days of the state employees have also started coming. The Bihar government in its cabinet meeting has approved a 4 per cent increase in the dearness allowance (DA) of state employees and pensioners.

In a meeting chaired by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, it was decided that the government will increase the DA (Dearness Allowance) of state employees and pensioners by four percent. Government employees and pensioners of Bihar will now get 42 percent DA from January 1, 2023.

Central Government increased Dearness Allowance (DA)

Prior to this, the central government had increased the dearness allowance of government employees by 4 percent in March. Now central employees will be paid dearness allowance at the rate of 42%. It will be paid along with the March salary.

Changes in recruitment rules

The Bihar cabinet on Monday approved new recruitment rules under which the state government will set up a commission for the recruitment of teachers in government schools. Additional Chief Secretary (Cabinet Secretariat) S. Siddhartha told reporters after the cabinet meeting that earlier teachers were recruited at the panchayat, block and district levels. Under the new rule, the government will appoint teachers through a commission.

1.5 lakh teachers to be recruited

According to a senior official of the Education Department, about 1.5 lakh teachers from primary to senior secondary level will now be appointed on the basis of new rules.

Under the new rule, appointments will not be made on contract basis. He said that teachers appointed on contract can now become regular government teachers by passing the entrance examination conducted by the commission.

Other decisions taken in the cabinet

Rural Development Department: Out of the temporary 102 posts created under the Jawahar Gram Swarozgar Yojana during the year 1982-83, under State Plan Head, Rural Development Department, Bihar, Patna, establishment and commitment of necessary 53 posts (formerly non-plan, major head -3451) in relation to the approval to be transferred to the item and the remaining 49 posts to be extradited.

Road Construction Department: Bharti Airtel for ERSS (Emergency Response Support System) to be operated by Bihar Police, free of charge for the work related to laying optical fiber cable from junction point at Jaypee Hospital to Bihar Police Radio, Rajvanshi Nagar Bhaya Lalit Bhawan In relation to waiving off all types of charges for providing them and laying cables.
