They will not have to pay a single penny for the ticket. This offer is only in Rajasthan. On this day women and girls traveling in Rajasthan Roadways buses will not have to pay fare.

This exemption will remain in the buses of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation. In the orders issued by the roadways administration, it has been said that women in the state will be able to travel free of cost in ordinary and express buses of Rajasthan Roadways. Please tell that the population of women in Rajasthan is about 3.5 crores.

The facility of free travel will be available from 12 midnight on March 7 and will be available on tickets generated till March 8 at 11.59 pm. The benefit of the facility of free travel will be available only within the limits of the state of Rajasthan. If a woman goes from Rajasthan to Delhi, Agra, Mathura or cities of other states, then she will not have to pay the fare up to the state limits. The fare ahead of that will be taken from the woman. Free bus travel will put a financial burden of about Rs 7.50 crore on the government exchequer.

Estimate of more crowd

This time on March 8, it is estimated that there will be more crowd in the buses. The reason for this is that there is Dhulandi festival on March 7 and the next day a large number of people will come from their villages or cities to work in other cities. For this reason, there will be more crowd of passengers on March 8 than on normal days. The Roadways Administration has estimated that more than 8 lakh women will travel in the entire state.

Half the fare will be charged from April 1.

The Ashok Gehlot government of Rajasthan had announced in its budget to give 50 percent discount to women in the fare of ordinary roadways buses. Now the government has told that women will start getting the benefit of this exemption from April 1, 2023. According to the information received from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), from April 1, women will have to pay only base fare in buses.

In this regard, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot wrote in a tweet, “Now women will have to pay only 50 percent fare in Rajasthan Roadways buses. The proposal to increase the exemption limit of fare for women in ordinary buses of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation has been approved within the state limits. This decision will put an additional annual financial burden of about Rs 3.50 crore on the state government.
