IMD’s latest update: IMD issued rain alert in many states from January 31 to February 4

Weather Update: It is extremely cold in many parts of the country. However, there has been some relief from the cold since few days. Even in the country’s capital Delhi, the sun of relief is shining for the last 1-2 days.

But there is dense fog in the morning and it is cold in the evening also. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert in many states from January 31 to February 4. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain, which will increase the cold and drop the temperature by 3 to 4 degrees. According to IMD, the cold wave outbreak is likely to continue in UP and Punjab. IMD has said that we expect very light, perhaps some light rain or very light thundershowers in Delhi on January 31.

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in parts of Delhi, Haryana, UP, Punjab, Chandigarh, North Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, North-Eastern Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim is likely to be between 7 to 10 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert regarding dense fog in Punjab, while in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, there is a possibility of fog during day time also within the next 24 hours.

According to Skymet Weather, in the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain and snowfall along with heavy rain at some places may occur in Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Light rain and snowfall is possible in some parts of Uttarakhand.

Light rain is possible in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Dense to very dense fog is expected in many parts of Uttar Pradesh and isolated areas of Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana during the morning and night. Dense fog may occur in isolated areas of Bihar, North Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Northeast India. Cold day to severe cold day conditions may occur in some parts of Uttar Pradesh. Such conditions are possible in some parts of Bihar and one or two places in Uttarakhand.
