Mono Rail: Earlier there was a plan to connect Noida airport to New Delhi station through metro corridor, but the cost of this project was very high, so considering other options, the government has considered monorail as a better option. However, the final decision on this will be taken after the feasibility report is received.

There is a plan to run mono rail from Jewar Airport to Pari Chowk in Noida. With this, it will take less time to reach Noida International Airport from Pari Chowk. Although, earlier there was a plan to connect it with the metro corridor, but due to high cost, the Uttar Pradesh government decided to run mono rail considering other options.

The feasibility report of the mono rail project will be made by a Swiss company and will be ready within 2 months. The distance from Jewar Airport to Greater Noida is about 32 kms. As per the current plan, the mono rail will be run along the Yamuna Expressway and land is already available for it. On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary DS Mishra gave this information during a meeting in Lucknow.

After the final decision Feasibility Report came,

Yamuna Expressway Authority CEO Arun Veer Singh said, “Since the metro corridor project is very expensive, the UP government is looking for other options and mono rail is a good option among them. However, the final decision on this will be taken after the feasibility report is received.

Since earlier there was a plan to connect Noida airport to New Delhi station through metro corridor, but the cost of this project was very high, so it had to be considered. According to the news of TOE, the budget for running mono rail per kilometer is 70 crores, 250 crores for rapidx line and 350 crores per kilometer for metro project, so mono rail is the cheaper option.

Features of mono rail

Actually mono rail is such a train, which does not run on the railway line, rather it is run with the help of beam. The special thing is that its route is elevated, so there is no possibility of accident. At the same time, the passengers sitting inside the mono rail do not hear the outside noise. It is a completely pollution free train. At present, the route for the Mono Rail Project and RapidX has not been prepared.

However, 82 km rapid rail is being prepared between Delhi and Meerut and out of this, 17 km route of corridor between Sahibabad and Duhai in Ghaziabad will start soon.
