Decision taken to protect from scorching heat

The mercury goes above 40 degrees Celsius in Madhya Pradesh during May-June, and hot winds (loo) can prove to be dangerous for the health of children. Keeping this in mind, the government has taken this decision after the advice of the Meteorological Department and health experts, so that children can be kept safe from heat. The State Education Minister said that “The safety and health of children is our top priority. Going to school in extreme heat can be risky for children, so holidays have been announced ahead of time.”

Separate schedule for teachers

While students will enjoy 46 days of leave, teachers have been given only 31 days of leave. Their leave will be from May 1 to May 31, 2025. After this, it will be mandatory for teachers to come to school from June 1. In the first fifteen days of June, they will participate in the following activities:

  • Preparing lesson plans for the new session
  • Analysis of the assessment report
  • Workshops and training sessions to enhance teaching quality
  • Prepare an action plan for the coming session
  • The aim of this initiative is to ensure that children get better and planned education as soon as schools reopen.

Studies will not stop – revision will continue during holidays too

To ensure that students’ studies are not affected, the education department is planning to start online revision classes, homework assignments, and digital learning modules during the summer vacations. This will enable students to revise their previous studies while staying at home and there will be no problem at the start of the new session. Allaying the concerns of parents, the education department said, “We will ensure that there is no interruption in students’ studies despite the long vacations. We will make arrangements for continuous learning through online content and tele-education.”
