Retirement Age Hike: The state government has once again given a big relief to the employees and professor teachers. Their retirement age has been increased.
Their retirement age has been increased by 3 years by the state government. With which they will be able to complete their service till 65 years.
This important decision was taken in the cabinet meeting on Friday. Actually, the retirement age of professors of medical colleges in Punjab has been increased by 3 years.
At present, their retirement age was 62 years. It has been decided to increase it to 65 years. This decision was taken in the meeting of Punjab’s Bhagwant Mann cabinet. According to the cabinet decision, the retirement age of professors teaching MBBS and MD students has been increased from 62 to 65 years. Professors will get the benefit of this.
Extension up to the age of 65 years
Along with this, the retirement age of medical officers of the health sector i.e. specialist doctors has also been increased. At present, their retirement age was 58 years. Which has been increased to 65 years. In the decision taken by the Bhagwant Mann cabinet, if a specialist doctor retires at the age of 58, he will be given an extension till the age of 65.
In such a situation, specialist doctors will be able to work on contract for 7 years. The last salary of these specialist doctors will be at the age of 58. They will be paid the same salary during the extension period as well.
