The metro network in the capital, Delhi, is no longer just a means of transportation, but has become the city’s lifeline. With each new phase, the metro is adding new dimensions to both speed and connectivity. In this regard, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has taken another major step.

Metro travel in the capital Delhi is about to enter a new phase. Carrying millions of passengers daily, the Delhi Metro is no longer just a means of transportation, but also a solution to the city’s traffic and pollution problems. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has taken a major step in this direction. Following the approval of Metro Phase 5A, the Central Secretariat Metro Station will be developed as the capital’s most important triple interchange metro hub. This will not only improve passenger connectivity but is also expected to reduce traffic pressure in Central Delhi.

Central Secretariat to become a super interchange

Currently, the Central Secretariat Metro Station serves as an interchange between the Yellow Line and the Violet Line. Approximately 200,000 passengers travel daily, while approximately 60,000 employees working in nearby ministries and government offices also rely on this station. Now, with the expansion of the Magenta Line under Phase 5A, this station will become a triple interchange.

Magenta Line to be extended

According to the DMRC, the Central Vista Corridor from RK Ashram to Indraprastha in Phase 5A has been approved. As part of this, the Magenta Line will be extended. Currently, Magenta Line passengers have to change metro lines to reach the Central Secretariat. However, after the extension, Magenta Line trains will also stop directly at this station. This will save passengers time and make travel more convenient.

Dependence on private vehicles will be reduced

The DMRC says interchange stations are built in strategic areas to encourage people to prefer public transport over private vehicles. A large number of government offices are located around the Central Secretariat, where thousands of people commute daily by car and two-wheelers. The addition of the Magenta Line will further strengthen metro access, potentially reducing private vehicle use and pollution.

The number of interchange stations will increase.

According to the DMRC, several new triple interchange stations will also be introduced under Metro Phase 4. Currently, there are 29 interchange stations in the Delhi Metro network. This number will increase to 43 upon completion of Phase 4, while the total number of interchange stations will increase to 46 with Phase 5A.

DMRC Timings on 15 August: To facilitate the special guests, invitees and general public in the Independence Day celebrations on 15th August 2025, Delhi Metro will start its services at 4 am from all terminal stations on all its lines.

Regarding Independence Day, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has also released new timings for the operation of the metro. On Independence Day, Delhi Metro will start its services from 4 am. This has been done for the convenience of special guests and the general public participating in the Independence Day celebrations.

According to DMRC, for the convenience of special guests, invitees and general public in the Independence Day celebrations on Friday, August 15, 2025, Delhi Metro will start its services from all terminal stations on all its lines at 4 am. Rail services will be available at an interval of 30 minutes on all lines till 6 am. After that, regular timetable will be followed for the rest of the day.

Apart from this, those who have authentic invitation letter issued by the Ministry of Defense to attend the Independence Day celebrations will be provided with access to the venue using special QR tickets provided by DMRC. Lal Quila, Jama Masjid and Delhi Gate metro stations are the nearest to the venue.

Security at airport and metro station increased on Independence Day

Central security agency CISF has increased security at IGI airport in view of the possibility of a terrorist attack on Independence Day. CISF has said that security checks can take a lot of time, so passengers coming to the airport and metro station should reach these places well in advance.

Recently, the central security and intelligence agencies along with the aviation security regulator Bureau of Civil Aviation Security Airport had issued an alert of a possible threat. After this, CISF has increased security at IGI Airport as well as all the stations of Delhi Metro. Additional security forces have been deployed at these places.

CISF says that vigilance and surveillance has been increased on national festivals like Independence Day. The passengers coming to these places and their luggage are being thoroughly checked. Which is taking a lot of time. In such a situation, the crowd at the entry gate may increase and people may take a little more time in the security check.

The post DMRC Releases Special Delhi Metro Timetable for Independence Day 2025 first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

New Delhi. Delhi Metro, which connects the country’s capital Delhi to various cities of NCR, is a lifeline for millions of people. When Delhi Metro services are disrupted, millions of people are affected.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has made an announcement that will increase the troubles of Delhiites. Services on the Metro’s Yellow Line will be disrupted not for one or two, but for five days. Trains will not be operated at some Metro stations for a scheduled time. This may cause difficulties especially to working people.

Metro services on the Yellow Line will be temporarily affected from the night of November 14 to November 19 due to civil work on the 490-meter long section from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram in Delhi. According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), this decision has been taken due to planned construction work on the 490-meter long section between Janakpuri West and RK Ashram. DMRC said that metro services on this section will be affected for some time from the intervening night of November 14-15 to the intervening night of November 19-20.

There will be no train service between the three most affected metro stations
Samaypur Badli and Jahangirpuri after 10.45 pm till the services resume at 7.02 am. The statement said that three stations (Samaypur Badli, Rohini Sector 18-19 and Haiderpur Badli Mor) will remain closed till the services are restored at 7.02 am. However, during this period, metro services will continue as usual on the remaining sections of the Yellow Line from Jahangirpuri to Millennium City Centre in Gurugram. According to DMRC, to reduce inconvenience, announcements will be made inside the stations and metro, which will provide information to the passengers about the destination and platform of the train.

Delhi Metro’s additional trips

Due to the worsening air pollution situation in Delhi, GRAP-3 is being implemented. In view of this, Delhi Metro posted on social media that in view of the implementation of GRAP-III from 8:00 am on Friday, 20 additional trips (in addition to the 40 already existing since the implementation of GRAP-II) will be included in the services starting from November 15. Thus, Delhi Metro will run 60 additional trips on weekdays as long as GRAP-III is in force.

Delhi Metro is the largest metro in India. In the year 2002, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation i.e. DMRC was established for Delhi Metro. The first metro in Delhi ran on the Red Line. Delhi Metro now covers an area of 400 kilometers.

Delhi Metro is no less than a lifeline for the people of Delhi NCR. Every day lakhs of passengers travel through Delhi Metro.

DMRC i.e. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has made some rules for travelling in the metro. These rules have to be followed by the passengers travelling in Delhi Metro. If someone violates the rules, then DMRC takes action against these people and also imposes a fine. The highest fine is imposed for this mistake in Delhi Metro. Let us tell you.

The highest fine for using emergency alarm without any reason

DMRC has made many rules for passengers to travel in Delhi Metro. Passengers have to follow them. Along with that, Delhi Metro has also made some arrangements for the convenience of passengers inside the metro. If a passenger falls ill during the metro journey or any other incident occurs, then he can inform the metro driver by using the emergency alarm.

For this, an emergency alarm is set up inside the metro. Using this, the passenger can directly talk to the metro driver. But there are many people who are in a mood of fun and frolic in the metro and in such a situation they do such things. But misusing the emergency alarm can be very costly. DMRC imposes a fine of Rs 10,000 for doing this.

Apart from this, it looks fine

There are different fines for breaking different rules in Delhi Metro. A fine of Rs 50 has to be paid for travelling without a ticket. There is a fine of Rs 200 for sitting on the floor of the metro. A fine of Rs 200 is imposed for bringing or consuming alcohol in the metro. DMRC imposes a fine of Rs 200 for creating a ruckus, spitting, fighting in the metro. A fine of Rs 500 is imposed for obstructing an official in his duty. On the other hand, a fine of Rs 250 has to be paid if a male passenger boards a coach reserved for women.

DMRC News: Metro services will start at 3:15 am on Sunday for the Delhi Half Marathon. Metro will be available on all lines except the Airport Express Line and the Grey Line. People have been requested to use the metro as there is limited parking facility at the venue.

For the convenience of the people participating in the Delhi Half Marathon, the service of Delhi Metro will start much before the scheduled time on Sunday, so that people do not face any problem in reaching Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and Sansad Marg. Since parking arrangements around the venue are very limited and there will be a lot of crowd, people have been appealed to reach the starting point of the marathon by metro instead of private vehicles.

The first metro will run at 3.15 am

According to the information received from DMRC, except for the Airport Metro Line and the Grey Line of the Metro between Dhansa Bus Stand and Dwarka, the Metro will start running from the terminal stations of all other lines from 3:15 am on Sunday. During this time, trains will be available at a frequency of 15 minutes from 3:15 am to 4:00 am and at a frequency of 20 minutes from 4 am to 6 am. From 6 am, trains will start running on all lines as per the regular Sunday timing. Since most of the people participating in the marathon have to reach the stadium by 4-4:30 pm, keeping this in mind, a frequency of 15 minutes has been kept till 4 pm, so that people do not have to wait long for the train.

Volunteers will also be deployed at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Jor Bagh, Janpath, Jangpura and Rajiv Chowk metro stations to assist the organizers and participants. The organizers themselves will bear the cost of metro travel for the people participating in the marathon. For this, DMRC has provided tickets with QR code with a fixed fare amount to the organizers.

The metro ride from home to the venue will be free for all the runners. For this, they will have to show the wrist band given by the organizers at the entry gate of the metro station. All the runners have been advised to collect their QR code wrist band and bib from the organizers in advance.

As part of its ongoing ‘Ease of Booking’ initiative through digitalization, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) today launched the Multiple Journey QR Ticket (MJQRT), a cutting-edge technology designed to offer greater convenience for passengers by eliminating the need for purchasing daily QR tickets. DMRC’s Managing Director, Dr. Vikas Kumar launched the new feature today at Metro Bhawan in the presence of other senior officials.

Key Features and Benefits of MJQRT:

First-of-its-kind solution: MJQRT is a revolutionary digital initiative, marking the first time in India that a QR-based multiple-journey product is being introduced.

Exclusively on दिल्ली सारथी (Momentum 2.0): Available exclusively on DMRC’s Delhi Metro Sarathi (Momentum 2.0) app, MJQRT provides passengers with a seamless, efficient way to manage multiple journeys on the Delhi Metro.

Availability: This feature will be available for App users from tomorrow.

Comprehensive journey management: Passengers will be able to view their journeys, including fare payments and recharges, directly on the app.

Simple onboarding: To avail the MJQRT, users must register on the दिल्ली सारथी (Momentum 2.0) app and can start with an initial amount of Rs. 150, which can be used for metro travel.

No security deposit: There is no security deposit required for the MJQRT.

Flexible recharge options: Users can easily add value in multiples of Rs. 50 through digital payment methods such as UPI, credit cards, and debit cards, with a maximum balance limit of Rs. 3,000.

Minimum balance for travel: A minimum balance of Rs. 60 is required to travel using the MJQRT.

Discounts on travel: MJQRT offers passengers a 10% discount during peak hours (8 AM – 12 PM and 5 PM – 9 PM) and a 20% discount during off-peak hours.

Eco-friendly alternative: MJQRT serves as an eco-friendly and economical alternative to the traditional smart cards currently in use.

Secure and recoverable: In case of theft, loss, or damage to the mobile device, the remaining balance will remain intact, and passengers can continue using the MJQRT by logging in on another device.

Ghaziabad News: The ticketing systems of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) have been integrated so that NaMo Bharat Train passengers do not face any hassle in booking tickets in Delhi Metro and Delhi Metro passengers do not face any hassle in booking tickets for NaMo Bharat Train.

The MoU was signed between DMRC and NCRTC on Wednesday to facilitate seamless travel to the residents of Delhi-NCR. The effort is in line with the ‘One India – One Ticket’ initiative that will allow passengers to book QR code tickets for both NaMo Bharat and Delhi Metro services on a single platform. The MoU was signed in the presence of NCRTC Managing Director Shalabh Goel and DMRC Managing Director Dr Vikas Kumar.

You can buy Metro and Namo Bharat tickets from the same app

Under the integrated ticketing system, passengers booking Namo Bharat train tickets from the RRTS Connect app can also buy Delhi Metro tickets along with it. Similarly, Namo Bharat train tickets can also be bought from the DMRC mobile app to book metro tickets. This collaboration will create Delhi Metro QR CODE on the RRTS Connect app and Namo Bharat QR CODE on the DMRC mobile app, which will greatly improve the passenger experience.

Start of integration of transport modes

This initiative is in line with the PM National Gati Shakti Master Plan, which envisages seamless integration between various transport modes. RRTS stations are being strategically integrated with existing railway stations, metro stations and bus depots, creating a comprehensive network of transport. This agreement will eliminate the need to switch between different ticketing apps while traveling between NCRTC and DMRC networks. This initiative promotes rail-based green transport for travel in Delhi-NCR.

Go anywhere in NCR, a single app will work

The currently operational 42 km RRTS corridor is seamlessly connected to the 393 km DMRC network, providing passengers with an integrated and efficient ticketing and travel experience across NCR. This integration encourages the use of public transport, which is critical to increasing passenger-numbers and ensuring the long-term sustainability of these large-scale projects.

All efforts are being made to reduce travel time

This initiative comes after a similar agreement was recently signed between NCRTC and IRCTC for booking Namo Bharat train tickets on the IRCTC platform. Namo Bharat Train, with a design speed of 180 km/h and an operational speed of up to 160 km/h, reduces travel time in the region by one-third. The target is to operate Namo Bharat train services on the 82 km long RRTS corridor of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut by June 2025, which will enable people to travel between Delhi and Meerut in less than an hour.

There is good news for the passengers traveling by Delhi Metro. Now traveling by Delhi Metro is going to be even easier. Actually, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is ready to introduce a new digital feature.

After this, you will not need to keep a physical smart card. Soon a new virtual smart card system is going to come for Delhi Metro.

This feature will be available through DMRC Momentum 2.0 as well as existing platforms providing Delhi Metro QR ticket facility like WhatsApp, Paytm, Amazon Pay and One Delhi.

Existing QR code tickets are valid only for single journey

In simple terms, the existing QR code is valid only for a single journey, passengers have to get a new QR code for every journey. Passengers will be able to use the same QR code for multiple journeys through virtual smart cards.

Virtual smart card will not be limited to a single journey

DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar told PTI, “We are planning to introduce QR for stored value. It will be like a traditional card which will not be limited to a single journey. It will also reduce the number of paper prints.”

How will the virtual smart card work?

The Delhi Metro virtual smart card will work just like the physical smart card available at metro counters. It can be stored on a smartphone. Passengers can top up their QR wallet using the DMRC mobile app and use the stored value to generate a QR code for travel.

Card balance will remain safe even if mobile is lost

Your virtual smart card balance will be stored safely in the app. Even if you lose your mobile, you can log in on another device to access your card funds.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has launched an initiative to enhance passenger convenience. This includes check-in facilities for international flights at New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium metro stations of the Airport Express Line.

In collaboration with Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), Air India and Vistara Airlines, DMRC is extending its ‘Check-in & Baggage-Drop’ service to international passengers. This facility was earlier available only to domestic passengers. Now international passengers taking Air India and Vistara Airlines flights will be able to check-in their luggage at metro stations.

Other airlines were also invited

DMRC has invited more airlines to join this initiative. Delhi Metro aims to bring more benefits to passengers. Passengers can check in their luggage at New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium metro stations, from where it will be safely delivered to the aircraft using advanced automated systems. This service eliminates the need for passengers to carry their luggage through the airport, simplifying their travel experience.

What are the check-in timings

The check-in service is available for Air India passengers at New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium metro stations from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. Vistara Airlines passengers can avail this service at New Delhi Metro Station from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm every day. Passengers on international flights can complete their check-in between four hours and three hours before departure. Passengers on domestic flights can check-in between twelve hours and two hours before the flight departure time.

Where are the check-in counters?

The airline check-in counters at New Delhi Metro station are located at the concourse level. The airline check-in counters at Shivaji Stadium Metro station are located near the VFS Global office at the concourse level. The new service has already received an encouraging response from passengers. The initiative is part of DMRC’s continued commitment to find innovative solutions to meet the changing needs of its passengers. The service, which began in the first week of June, aims to streamline travel processes for international passengers departing from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), New Delhi.

UPI Payment For Delhi Metro Ticket: If you travel by Delhi Metro, now the government has added UPI facility for you. Under this, you can easily book tickets and travel. Even if you do not have cash, you can easily book tickets and tokens with the help of UPI. This has been announced by DMRC and it has been said that you can use UPI at vendor machines and counters.

With the addition of UPI facility, passengers can now use mobile applications to make direct payments for smart card recharge and Metro QR ticket purchases at stations across the Delhi-NCR network.

TVM facility started in 2018

According to a DMRC statement, DMRC was the first metro system in the country to initially introduce this UPI facility on select Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) on the Noida and Ghaziabad sections in 2018. Now it is being extended to the rest of the network. TVM has already been upgraded at more than 125 stations in the Metro network. This facility is helpful in improving and speeding up ticketing services. In addition it provides a secure way of booking.

How to get token from Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) using UPI

First select the service you want to use on the Ticket Vending Machine (TVM)

Ticket Vending Machine offers multiple modes of payment, one of which is UPI

Now a QR code will appear on the screen of the ticket vending machine

After this you can scan it and pay

Use of UPI at Customer Care Center

Passengers can tell the operator that they want to pay through UPI in the payment options menu at the Customer Service Centre. Now after UPI is confirmed as the preferred method, the PID screen will show a QR code. You can then pay using the smartphone and take the token.

fight inside metro: Delhi Metro is once again in limelight. Two videos are going viral simultaneously on social media. In the first video, an argument between two women and a couple can be seen. On the other hand, seeing the second video, people grabbed their heads. Actually, two people started fighting with each other inside the metro train.

It can be seen in the viral video that the metro train is packed with passengers. Two men are fighting with each other in a moving train. Both are also seen scratching each other’s face. Both are kicking and punching each other. Seeing the tremendous fight, many passengers come forward to intervene. Just then the train stops at a station and a man who was fighting gets down from the train.

At the same time, another video is going viral on social media. In the video, two women are seen arguing with a couple. Women tell the couple that you should be ashamed, if there is more fire then go to the house. There is an argument between the couple and the women regarding this matter.

Delhi Metro commuters will now be able to travel on the Airport Line using the WhatsApp-based ticketing service launched on Tuesday.

Officials said that under this arrangement, passengers will be able to get ‘QR code’-based tickets directly on WhatsApp. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said, “Enhancing the travel experience of passengers through the digital medium, Delhi Metro today launched a WhatsApp-based ticketing service for travel on its Airport Express Line.”

DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar launched the service at Metro Bhawan here in the presence of other senior officials. With the launch of this facility, passengers on the airport line will now be able to use WhatsApp “chatbot generated QR code” based tickets from their smartphones.

DMRC said that this facility will facilitate seamless travel for passengers, especially national and international passengers, to or from the airport using the airport line. They can now buy and use tickets on their phones through a dedicated WhatsApp chatbot (available in English and Hindi languages).

This number will be added

He said that in order to start the service, commuters need to add DMRC’s official WhatsApp number 9650855800 to their phone’s contact list. Officials said that for single and group travel, a maximum of six “QR code”-based tickets can be generated for each passenger.

He said that the tickets will be valid till the end of the working day. However, once entered, passengers should exit the destination station within 65 minutes, he said. He said that passengers should leave within 30 minutes from the time of entry to exit the source (origin) station. Tickets cannot be booked after business hours. Cancellation of tickets is not allowed under this service.

DMRC will charge a nominal convenience fee for transactions done through credit or debit cards. No convenience fee will be charged for UPI-based transactions. Earlier this month, the DMRC introduced “QR code”-based paper tickets for travel on all lines.

During the journey in Delhi Metro, now you will be able to take advantage of 5G Mobile Networks in the next few days. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has started preparations to install 5G network equipment on the pillars of the corridor.

According to DMRC, it will be started from Samaypur Badli-Huda City Center route of Yellow Line Metro. There are a total of 37 stations on the 49 kilometer corridor from HUDA City Center to Samaypur Badli. 3 to 4 lakh passengers travel daily on this route. DMRC has divided the work of setting up 5G mobile network on pillars into three phases.

According to DMRC, the Samaypur Badli-Huda City Center route will be completed in the first phase from Samaypur Badli to GTB Nagar, from Saket to Arjangarh in the second phase and from Arjangarh to HUDA City Center in the third phase. Delhi Metro will install 5G mobile network equipment on 795 pillars of this route.

Work will be completed in three phases

DMRC has invited tender for installation of 5G network equipment. Instead of setting up 5G network, the telecom company will pay rent to DMRC. This rent will be charged per pillar. It has not been decided yet how much the rent will be. The fare will be decided only after the application of the telecom companies.

Delhi Metro has released the tender.

Delhi Metro’s Airport Line, which runs from New Delhi to Dwarka Sector 21, is being extended up to Dwarka Sector 25. 5G Network C facility is already available in the expansion area. This underground corridor is ready. Metro management has said that the installation of 5G equipment will not only benefit the passengers but also the people living around the station and the corridor. Along with this, the revenue of Metro will also increase.

Significantly, due to the G-20 conference in Delhi this year, many works are going to be done like high speed 5G network, beautiful roads, double decker buses, preparing better footpaths for commuting from metro stations to colonies. 5G network has already been enabled at IGI Airport. In such a situation, work has started on 5G network service in Delhi Metro as well. More than 5000 towers are being set up in Delhi for 5G network.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has started QR code code based paper ticket for travel on all its lines. Apart from this, DMRC is also working on the target of introducing mobile based QR tickets by the end of the month.

If you travel daily by Delhi Metro, then there is good news for you. Delhi Metro has started a new facility to end the hassle of tokens and cards. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced QR code based paper tickets for travel on all its lines. This facility has been started with the aim of saving the time of the passengers.

DMRC has upgraded AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) gates and token/customer care counters to support QR based paper tickets for this facility. At the same time, DMRC is also working on the target of starting mobile based QR ticket by the end of the month. As soon as this facility comes, the need for passengers to buy tickets by standing in line at metro stations/counters will end.

How to use QR ticket at stations

Passengers will be able to enter only from the station from where QR based paper ticket (non-refundable) has been issued. Entry is not allowed from stations other than the issuing station.

> In case of failure in revenue service, QR based paper ticket will be adjusted as per rules by applying incident fare mode at AFC gates.

> Passengers will be able to enter the metro system within 60 minutes of the issue of QR based paper ticket.

>If a passenger fails to login to the system through QR based paper ticket within 60 minutes from the time of issue of QR based paper ticket, that ticket will become invalid. No refund will also be given to the passenger on that ticket.

>At present QR based paper ticket will be issued from one station to another station only.

>If a passenger wants to exit midway at a station other than the one specified in the ticket, before the destination station, the AFC gates will not open using QR based paper tickets. In such a case, a free exit ticket will be issued to the passenger by the Customer Care Operator and the old QR based paper ticket will be taken back from the passenger.

>If a passenger wants to exit at any station beyond the destination station, the AFC gates will not open if QR based paper tickets are used. An exit ticket will be issued to the passenger after recovering the fare equivalent to going to the next station and the old QR based paper ticket will be retained.

> No phone image/QR based copy of paper ticket will be accepted without a valid ticket. During this, action will be taken against the passenger as per DMRC rules.

Passengers’ time will be saved

DMRC is working on upgradation of Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) to issue QR based paper tickets. A target has also been set to make all AFC gates of the network QR code compliant by the end of June this year. As soon as this system starts, the token requirement for travel will be abolished. This will save the time of passengers.

Delhi Metro: DMRC has made a new proposal regarding two metro stations of Delhi, Rajendra Place and Jhandewalan station. If this proposal is approved, then the people here will get all the facilities. When someone has to reach the office on time, then the time of metro is definitely late.

This situation is mostly seen on the Blue Line. To improve such conditions, DMRC has decided to change the look of Rajendra Place and Jhandewalan Metro Station of Delhi Metro Station. Now many facilities like footpath, cycle stand, pickup drop, cap point will be made available to the passengers outside these metro stations.

connectivity of blue line passengers will be better

According to DMRC, if all these facilities are available outside Rajendra Place and Jhandewalan metro stations, then the connectivity for the passengers of Blue Line will be better. Facilities like footpath, zebra crossing, cap pickup are included for passengers at Rajendra Place and Jhandewalan. At the same time, facilities like green area, e-charging station will be available in Rajendra Place.

Work will be done on the facilities of passengers

The load of passengers at these stations is also very high. That’s why this work will be done keeping in view the facilities of the passengers here. If DMRC officials are to be believed, in the coming time, proposals for many more stations have to be made and sent. But the first priority is for Rajendra Place and Jhandewalan Metro Station. As soon as its proposal comes, the work will be started within 1 month. So that the work is finished as soon as possible and facilities are provided to the passengers.

Traveling in Delhi Metro is now going to be easier for the passengers. Now passengers will get rid of the long queues at metro stations during the journey. Actually, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is now going to start the facility of traveling through National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) in the entire metro network after the Airport Express Line.

At least one or two AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) gates are being reserved at entry and exit points of all metro stations for fare collection through NCMC cards. Apart from this, QR codes will also be installed at the entry and exit gates, which passengers will be able to scan with their mobile phones and travel in the metro.

Software will read only NCMC card One or two gates on one side, right or left, are being reserved for those traveling with NCMC card at all metro stations at the entry and exit points of the AFC gate. According to DMRC officials, a different type of software will be installed in these gates, which will only read NCMC cards. Along with this, a QR code scanner will also be installed at these gates.

Passengers will be able to travel in the metro by scanning it from their phones. At the same time, soon the facility of buying tickets through account-based tickets and Near Field Communication (NFC) will also be available from these gates. With this, passengers will be able to travel in the metro even by punching the QR code of the ticket present in their phone at the gate.

Now there will be no need of smart card of metro After the introduction of this new system for entry in metro, there will be no need of smart card to travel in metro. Now passengers will be able to enter the metro using their bank’s debit or credit card or mobile phone only. At the same time, their rent will be deducted directly from their bank account. The QR code at the gate will also be linked to the NCMC system.

Through this, just as we scan the QR code from our mobile wallet and pay through UPI directly from our bank account, similarly we will be able to pay for the ticket for traveling in the Metro.

When will this facility start

According to a DMRC spokesperson, there is a plan to start this facility in the entire network of Delhi Metro by the end of March or in the beginning of April. For this, the work of reserving gates is being done at a fast pace. Along with this, some changes are also being made in the design of the gates.

A photo of a card which looks like a metro smart card with NDMC written on the entry and exit gates is being pasted. Along with this, QR codes are also being installed. Apart from this, to reduce the crowd of other people at the reserve gates, stickers written ‘Card Only’ are also being put on the gates.

DMRC has given a big gift for the passengers traveling by metro in Delhi NCR. For the first time from today, the first set of 8-coach trains have been introduced on the route from Red Line i.e.

Rithala to Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda. The number of coaches of all 39 trains on this route will be increased. Around 500 additional passengers will be able to travel with the first set introduced.

78 coaches will be added in 39 trains

DMRC has increased the number of coaches on the Red Line. A total of 78 coaches are planned to be added in 39 trains on this route of Delhi Metro. All these coaches have been procured from M/s Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML). DMRC said that this will make the journey of those traveling by metro easier.

More than 4.7 lakh passengers travel here every day

According to DMRC, this is one of the oldest routes of Delhi Metro, where the number of additional coaches has been increased. Red Line 4 serves 4.7 lakh passengers every day from the existing interchange stations Welcome, Kashmere Gate, Indralok and Netaji Subhash Place. In such a situation, increasing the number of coaches will help in reducing the congestion during the journey.

Work will be completed by 2024

These additional coaches will increase the carrying capacity of Red Line (Line-1), which was extended up to Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda in Ghaziabad in the year 2019 and has a total length of about 34 km. The work of converting 6-coach trains to 8-coach trains on the Red Line is likely to be completed by 2024.

It is worth noting that last year, all the 6-coach trains were changed to Yellow Line (Line-2 i.e. Samaypur Badli to HUDA City Centre) and Blue Line (ie Line-3/4 Dwarka Sector-21 to Noida Electronic City and Vaishali) for 6. Successfully completed by adding additional coaches to its remaining fleet of coached trains.

How many trains are there near Delhi Metro?

The first 6-coach train service on the Delhi Metro network was started on the Red Line in the year 2013. Delhi Metro currently has a fleet of 336 train sets comprising of 176 trains.

Under this new rule, apart from Smart Cards, you will be able to pay Metro fares through Debit and Credit Cards, Near Field Communication (NFC), QR code based ticketing mobile phones and paper QR tickets.

All bank cards will be accepted

Let us tell you that at present this facility is available in some metros like Kochi and Nagpur, but here only debit/credit cards of specific banks are taken.
DMRC’s system will accept transactions from all banks through RuPay portal. The new system will also help create more ‘fare zones’ in the metro network.
