Income Tax Department has given permission to claim TDS even without PAN Card. However, this exemption has been given to non-resident taxpayers, who can claim TDS by filling only Form 110F. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has made it mandatory for NRI taxpayers to digitally fill Form 10F for lower TDS claim process in July. In this situation, these taxpayers were facing problems in filling the form. The portal was not allowing to fill the form digitally without PAN card, but now such people have been allowed to fill form 10F without PAN card till 31 July 2023.

In a notification of CBDT, it has been said that to overcome the problems of Non Resident Taxpayers, exemption has been given till 31 March 2023 to fill 10F form. These people can claim TDS without PAN card by filling the form digitally. Also, there is no need to keep a permanent account.
