On Thursday, July 3, the festival of Kharchi Puja will be celebrated in Tripura. This is a major religious festival, which is celebrated with great devotion and pomp every year in the month of July. This puja is dedicated to the 14 deities of Tripura, called ‘Chaturdash Devta’. This festival is usually held at the Chaturdash Devta Temple located in the old Haveli area near the capital Agartala. Kharchi Puja lasts for seven days, in which special worship, procession of deities and traditional cultural programs take place. It is believed that this puja destroys sins and purifies the land. This festival is a unique confluence of tribal culture and Hindu traditions.

July 3 (Thursday) – Tripura: Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Kharchi Puja.
July 5 (Saturday) – Jammu and Srinagar: Banks will remain closed on account of Guru Hargobind Ji’s birthday.
July 14 (Monday) – Meghalaya: Banks will remain closed on Beh Dekhlam festival.
July 16 (Wednesday) – Uttarakhand: Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Harela festival.
July 17 (Thursday) – Meghalaya: Banks will remain closed on the death anniversary of U Tirot Singh.
July 19 (Saturday) – Tripura: Banks will remain closed due to Ker Puja.
July 28 (Monday) – Sikkim: Banks will remain closed on account of Drukpa Chhe-ji festival.
Apart from this, all the banks will remain closed across the country on 13th July, the second Saturday and 27th July, the fourth Saturday.
