Bank Holiday: The month of December is coming. Banks in the country will remain closed for 17 days in the month of December. 17 days of holidays in December including weekend holidays.

Next month there will be 5 Sundays, so bank employees will get 7 days weekly holiday instead of 6 days. Other banks will be closed in the month of December due to Christmas festival and local holidays. These 17-day holidays are not going to happen simultaneously in all the states. There will be several bank holidays in December 2024 due to national and local festivals. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar, banks will be closed for a total of 17 days this month. These include Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays and festive holidays. There are 5 Sundays in December. Due to this, banks will be closed for 7 days due to the weekly holiday. Although bank branches will remain closed during these days, customers can use digital services like internet banking, mobile apps and ATMs.

  • 12 December (Thursday): Pa-Togan Nengminja Banks will remain closed in Shillong due to Sangma.
  • December 14 (Saturday): Second Saturday
  • December 15 (Sunday): Weekly holiday
  • December 18 (Wednesday): Banks in Shillong will remain closed due to the death anniversary of U Soso Tham.
  • December 19 (Thursday): Banks will remain closed only in Goa due to Goa Mukti Day.
  • December 22 (Sunday): Weekly Holiday
  • December 24 (Tuesday): Banks in Kohima, Aizawl will remain closed on Christmas Eve.
  • December 25 (Wednesday): Banks will remain closed in all states due to the national holiday of Christmas.
  • December 26 (Thursday): Banks will remain closed in some states due to Christmas celebrations.
  • December 27 (Friday): Banks will remain closed in some states due to Christmas celebrations.
  • December 28 (Saturday): Fourth Saturday
  • December 29 (Sunday): Weekly Holiday
  • December 30 (Monday): Banks will remain closed in Shillong due to U Ki Aung Nangbah.
