Schools Closed Today. Due to heavy rains across the country on 7 July 2025, schools have been closed in many districts of Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Earlier there was confusion whether Muharram holiday would be available on 07 July 2025 or not. At the same time, now the children have fun due to the alert of heavy rain. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rains in many states from 6 to 12 July, due to which the local administration has declared holidays in schools keeping in mind the safety of the children.

It has been raining heavily since morning in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Along with the drop in temperature, a few hours of rain has increased the problem of waterlogging (Aaj Ka Mausam). In such a situation, it is a big problem for children to reach school. Schools are open despite heavy rain in Delhi-NCR.

Rainy Day: School closed in rain

Karnataka: Due to heavy rains in Kodagu (Coorg) district, a holiday has been declared for all schools and colleges on July 7. In other areas of Karnataka, especially South Karnataka, there is a heavy rain alert between July 6 and 9-12, due to which the local administration may decide to close the schools.

Chhattisgarh: Schools closed on July 7 due to heavy rains in Jagdalpur. IMD has warned of extremely heavy rains in Chhattisgarh on July 6-7, due to which schools may be closed in other districts as well. Children can call the school to know the latest updates.

Rajasthan: Eastern Rajasthan (Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Bharatpur, Udaipur) is likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall on July 7-9. Schools have already been closed due to rain in some districts like Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Bharatpur and Dausa. Light to moderate rain is expected in Western Rajasthan (Jodhpur, Bikaner).

Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana: There is an alert of heavy rain in these states from 6-12 July. Floods, landslides and cloudbursts have been occurring in Himachal Pradesh for the last several days. Schools have been closed in many districts for the last few days.

Schools Closed in Maharashtra: Schools closed in Maharashtra

Schools have been ordered closed in Maharashtra due to rain on 7 July 2025. The IMD has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rains in many parts of Maharashtra, especially Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Vidarbha regions from 6-12 July. Schools and colleges will remain closed due to heavy rains in Palghar, Maharashtra. Palghar District Collector Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar has declared a holiday in all schools, colleges, coaching centers and other educational institutions in the district on 7 July 2025 under the Disaster Management Act 2005.

Schools Closed Tomorrow: Get updates from school for tomorrow

The decision to close schools has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the students. Heavy rains can lead to waterlogging, landslides and traffic disruptions. Teachers and non-teaching staff have been asked to remain present in schools to assist in disaster management. Residents have been advised to remain alert, stay away from flowing water and follow the instructions of the administration. Schools may also be closed on July 8 depending on the weather conditions.

This time the monsoon has brought a big change in the weather by knocking before time across the country. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), while every year the monsoon reaches the entire country by July 8, this time this process has been completed 9 days earlier.

With the monsoon becoming fully active, heavy rains have started in many states. Due to this, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rains for different parts of the country. Warnings have also been issued for strong winds, thunderstorms and lightning in different areas.

There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in many states in the coming days, due to which people need to be alert. Let us know how active the monsoon is in which parts of the country and which states can witness heavy rains.

Heavy rain alert in Jharkhand , Odisha and Central India

Monsoon is getting stronger in East and Central India. On 29 and 30 June, some parts of Jharkhand may receive more than 20 cm of rain. Similarly, heavy to very heavy rain is also expected in Odisha on 29 June. Apart from this, intermittent heavy rain will continue in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh till 5 July. During this period, there is a possibility of rain accompanied by strong winds (30–40 kmph), lightning and thunder.

Heavy rain warning in Uttarakhand and Himachal

The weather department’s forecast for North India is also giving serious indications. Heavy to very heavy rains are possible in Uttarakhand from 29 June to 3 July and in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana on 29-30 June. Rains will also be heavy in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on selected days. Due to this, landslides and waterlogging may occur, especially in hilly areas.

Heavy rains in Konkan, Maharashtra and Gujarat

Monsoon is in full swing in western India as well. Heavy rains are forecast for the next seven days in Konkan and Goa, Ghat areas of central Maharashtra and Gujarat. Heavy rains are also expected in Marathwada on 29 and 30 June. This time can be very important for crops and water sources due to the monsoon being active in this region.

Continuous rain with thunder and lightning

Heavy to very heavy rains will continue in Northeast India between July 2 and July 5. There is also a possibility of lightning and strong winds along with light to moderate rains in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. There is also a need to keep an eye on the water level of the rivers here.

Coastal and inland areas will get wet in Kerala-Karnataka

Monsoon is gradually becoming active in South India. Heavy rains may occur in Kerala and Mahe on 29 June, 3 and 4 July. Apart from this, heavy rains are also expected in many parts of Karnataka between 2 and 5 July. During this time, strong winds of 40–50 km per hour will blow in the region and the waves in the sea will be high.

The system has spread throughout the country

This year, the monsoon has entered all the states before time. The monsoon made a full entry in Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and the rest of Delhi by June 28. Currently, the monsoon trough line extends through Ferozepur, Sonipat, Ayodhya, Gaya and Purulia to the Bay of Bengal, where a low-pressure system is also formed. This has led to continuous rain conditions.

Be alert, especially in mountainous and riverside areas

According to the IMD report, the weather pattern will keep changing in different parts of the country for the next 5–7 days. In such a situation, the administration and citizens need to be alert, especially in landslide prone areas, waterlogged areas and low lying plains.

There is finally good news for the people of India who are suffering from severe heat. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted relief rain, strong winds and hailstorms in many parts of the country for the next four days i.e. from 25 to 28 April 2025.

This change in weather will come due to various active seasonal systems, among which cyclonic winds in the lower atmosphere in East Bihar, Northeast Assam and South Coastal Tamil Nadu are prominent. Apart from this, a western disturbance will also start affecting the western Himalayan region from 24 April.

Weather will change in eastern India

According to IMD, light to moderate rain may occur in different areas of eastern India during 25 to 28 April. During this period, there is also a possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds at the speed of 40-50 kmph which can reach up to 60 kmph at some places. A hailstorm warning has been issued in Jharkhand on April 27, while thunderstorms may occur in Bihar on April 26 and 27.

There is a possibility of rain in the western Himalayas as well

There is a possibility of light rain and thunderstorms in the Western Himalayan region from 24th to 26th April, due to which there may be some drop in temperature there too.

Relief expected in South India too

South Indian states – Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry – are also expected to receive light to moderate rainfall and strong winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph, gusting up to 50 kmph in some areas, for the next seven days.

Heavy rain warning in Northeast

Heavy rains have been predicted in Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh from 23 to 27 April. Very heavy rains may occur especially in Arunachal Pradesh on 23 and 24 April and in Assam and Meghalaya on 23 and 26 April.

Heat will continue to haunt these states including Delhi

However, there is little hope of relief from heat in some states. Heatwave conditions will continue in Delhi on 25 and 26 April where the maximum temperature is expected to be between 41-43 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be between 23-25 degrees Celsius. On 25 April, the sky will be clear in Delhi and the wind will blow from west and north-west direction at a speed of 10-20 kilometers per hour. On 26 April, there may be partial clouds in the evening but the effect of heat will remain.

Apart from this, heatwave conditions will persist at different places in western Madhya Pradesh, western Rajasthan, eastern Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand between 23 and 29 April. Hot nights will also trouble people in Bihar, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal from 23 to 25 April. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Gujarat are expected to experience hot and humid weather between 23 and 29 April.

At the same time, IMD has advised people to be alert and take necessary precautions in view of the changing mood of the weather. While rain and hailstorm will provide relief from the heat, there is a need to stay safe during strong winds and thunderstorms.

The post IMD Alert: Warning of heavy rain and storm issued in these states till April 28 first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

Strong winds, heavy rains and heatwaves are expected due to different weather patterns from the northern hills to the southern and northeastern states.

According to the IMD, a cyclone originating from Iraq is slowly moving towards the northern hilly states of India, which is likely to bring rain in these areas. At the same time, another cyclone is developing over Bangladesh, which is likely to bring rain in the eastern and northeastern states in the next five days.

Temperatures continue to fluctuate

The weather department has also predicted hot and humid weather conditions in Konkan and Goa till March 12. Apart from this, similar weather conditions will prevail in Gujarat, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe. According to the IMD, maximum temperatures may increase by 3-4 degrees Celsius over northwest India in the next four days, but no significant change in temperature is expected thereafter.
Rain Alert in these states

Delhi Weather Update: The national capital remained engulfed in a thick blanket of fog on Tuesday, which also reduced visibility. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature in Delhi was recorded at 11.6 degrees Celsius at 5:30 am, while the minimum temperature during the day is expected to be 8 degrees Celsius and the maximum 19 degrees Celsius.

400 flights affected

Due to low visibility, more than 400 flights were affected at Delhi airport on Monday. SpiceJet said in an ex-post that due to bad weather (low visibility) at Delhi (DEL), Amritsar (ATQ), Jammu (IXJ), Srinagar (SXR), Gorakhpur (GOP), Varanasi (VNS), Ayodhya (AYJ), Darbhanga (DBR) and Patna (PAT), all flights may be affected on January 7.

Trains were also affected

Apart from this, many trains were also delayed at Delhi Railway Station due to cold wave and fog. In such a situation, if you also have to travel in trains coming to and from Delhi in the coming days, then you should check the live status of your train before leaving home. You can easily check the live status and running details of your train on the official website and app NTES of Indian Railways.

There is a possibility of rain till January 12

The IMD has predicted rain and thundershowers on January 11 and 12 in its seven-day forecast, which experts believe may help reduce air pollution levels. This potential rainfall may also improve visibility and bring some relief from the existing dense fog.

How is the air of Delhi?

The air quality in the national capital remained in the ‘very poor’ category for the second consecutive day. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 310 at 6 am on Tuesday. Some areas of Delhi like Anand Vihar (394), Patparganj (364), Jahangirpuri (359) and Ashok Vihar (343) recorded even higher AQI levels, indicating severe pollution in these areas. However, the air quality was slightly better in some areas like Najafgarh (284), which was placed in the ‘poor’ category.

In this winter season, the weather has shown different forms across the country. Somewhere it is raining heavily, while somewhere the cold wave has affected the life.

Snowfall continues in the hilly areas, while pollution and fog have increased the cold further in other plain areas including Delhi. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of major change in the weather till December 22. Let us know what the weather will be like in different parts of the country for the next five days.

Heavy rain forecast in these states

Due to a low pressure system formed in the central parts of South Bay of Bengal on December 16, Tamil Nadu and its adjoining areas are likely to receive heavy rains on December 17 and 18. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Puducherry are expected to receive light to moderate rains with strong winds during December 17 to 20. Winds with a speed of 45-55 kmph and lightning are also likely. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.

Effect of cold and fog in North India

Cold wave continues to prevail in North India. The effect of cold wave is being felt in states like Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi. Severe cold wave alert has been issued in western Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Dense fog may prevail in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Along with cold, pollution also remains a serious problem in Delhi. AQI has crossed 418, due to which Graap-4 has been implemented. There is no possibility of relief from both cold and pollution in the next five days.

Snowfall continues in hilly states.

Heavy snowfall is occurring in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Up to one feet of snow has fallen in Kedarnath Dham, due to which the pilgrimage routes are affected. There is a possibility of further increase in snowfall in these areas after 22 December.

Due to the effect of humidity and cold winds, dense fog will be seen in the morning and evening in the eastern parts of the country, such as Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal and Assam. At the same time, ground frost may occur in some parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

For the next five days, different parts of the country will witness different shades of winter. While South India will be hit by rain, North and Central India will grapple with cold winds and fog. The cold will increase further due to snowfall in the hilly areas.

Cyclone Remal: Due to cyclone Remal, every flight from Kolkata airport has been cancelled. According to the latest information, no flight will take off from Sunday afternoon till 9:00 am on Monday.

According to the latest information released by the Indian Meteorological Department, the low pressure system formed over the Bay of Bengal has turned into cyclone Ramal. Due to this, a possibility of landslides was also expressed.

The process of landslides has started in the coastal areas of Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal and it will continue for the next several hours. This information has been released by IMD.

Due to this cyclonic storm Ramal, every flight from Kolkata airport has been cancelled. According to the latest information, no flight will take off from Kolkata airport from Sunday afternoon to 9:00 am on Monday. Neither will any flight land.

Passengers who had come to catch their flight at Kolkata airport are also stranded, waiting for the flight to take off, but due to storm and rain, they are stuck at the airport and are waiting for their flight to take off.

According to information, the epicentre of Cyclone Ramal was about 30 kilometres off the Bangladesh coast and experts expected landfall to occur mostly in the Sundarbans region, where mangroves could absorb the worst of the storm’s waves.

On Sunday evening also, stormy winds blew at a speed of 100 to 110 kmph in the coastal areas of Bengal. Its effect was also seen in the coastal areas of Orissa. Information was received about winds blowing at a speed of 45 to 55 kmph in Howrah, Hooghly, Kolkata and East Modinagar districts, which can increase to 65 kmph. The Meteorological Department also says that the speed of these winds can also be 80 to 90 kmph.

Due to this cyclone Remal, preparations to deal with it started in West Bengal. The Bengal government shifted about 110000 people from coastal areas including Sundarban and Sagar Island to shelters. 14 teams of disaster response force were deployed in sensitive areas of 9 districts of West Bengal, where there is a possibility of a strong storm.

The IMD has warned of very heavy rains in the coastal districts of West Bengal on 26 and 27. The Mayor of Kolkata has assured the citizens that the Municipal Corporation has put its employees on high alert and is personally monitoring the preparations. If it rains after strong winds, pumps have also been kept ready to remove the stagnant water.

Due to Ramal, political rallies and road shows have also been cancelled for the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. BJP spokesperson Samik Bhattacharya, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee have also cancelled their road shows and rallies.

Disaster management officials and security forces in various northeastern states have been put on high alert ahead of the arrival of severe cyclonic storm Remal. The governments of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Manipur and Mizoram have issued separate advisories and asked the National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, district administration and other concerned departments to remain on maximum alert and be prepared to deal with any situation.
